  1. another great job by the lakewood fire dept , you know the guys that selfishly drop everything they are doing to help anyone in lakewood reguardless or color race religon or day of the week. the same ones that have been getting no respect from the community wich we serve.. nice job boys .

  2. to number 4
being that beer , uri and moshe are members of the lfd and brothers of mine i dont think they need or want to be singled out. you can just say ty to the lfd we are all a family here right boys !!!

  3. No respect ??!!! They get tons of respect from the community. Everyone immensely respects & appreciates what they do for us. Don’t misconstrue a vote for commish as a feeling towards the vols. We love the vols !! Dudi B.

  4. Dear wow
If you want recognition then show up yourself, as far as thanking them if you dont want a thank you then that’s your prerogative. Speak for yourself. Leave them out of it.

  5. my comment has nothing to do with your vote for fire commissioner , my comment about not respecting us in in responce for the cutting of our budgit 3 years in a row , and the calls for further cuts. you do realize that we need funding to operate safely dont you . i could care less who the comissioner is as long as they continue to make sure we can do our job safely . as far aswanting and thanks … i dont ask for thanks , nor do any of the people that do this job with us. if you want to thank someone thank the lakewood fire dept , it is just flat rude to thank any one member . i know these guys personally and they feel exactly the same. they do not want and special thanks .the want yor support !! like voting in favor of our budgut and making donations to the department.

  6. Thanks to all the emergency responders who showed up this morning especially the line officers who always teach us probies how to be better firefighters.

  7. Due to the fact I wasn’t on scene this morning it is silly to give me recognition. Good job by all members of the Dept. who responded (Jason where were you?)

  8. I read so many comments from fire fighters who I respects for giving up their time and risking their lives , complain about cutting their budget. The LFD has operated with almost a 2 million dollar surplus of funds. That means the fire tax was greater then the cost to run the department .
cutting $150,000.00 should have no impact. If there is equipment that is out of date or needs replacement then thats the fault of the Fire Chiefs and commissioners because they have the money to purchase the equipment. I don’t believe Lakewood first aid or police have a 2 million dollars surplus of funds. State Law regulates the amount of surplus funds aloud and I believe the fire department was near the maximum limit. The commissioners should have voted to cut the tax rates and they didn’t.

  9. Hey anon if you think you know so much about what it takes and costs to operate a fire department…. well why don’t YOU become a member of the LFD and show all of the members how everything should be done …. hope you can introduce yourself to all of the members of the LFD ASAP ….. but I’m sure none of them will be holding their breath waiting

  10. No,the police and first aid don’t have a surplus because in their never ending quest to find money, the township has gutted them. Fewer workers, less protection, unhappy workers. If you bothered to read something besides the Friday fish wrapping paper you would see the budget was cut significantly! The largest town in the area had fire protection with one of the smallest budgets . But that wasn’t enough for the department haters, they had to drag the reputation of a rough talking but good man thru the mud. And you wonder why we are angry? I came today because of a possible entrapment. But other times? Gasoline keeps going up and I need to save money too cause I don’t get paid or appreciated by most of this town for doing this job.

  11. As a volunteer firefighter for Lakewood the most annoying and disrespectful thing that I encountered yesterday was that nobody would stop or pull over for me while I had my emergency light on. Traffic is already a big issue in Lakewood that prevents and has increased the delay for all volunteers in responding to their buildings or to the scene within a timely fashion, why can’t people just show respect and stop/pull over for us so we can save/protect people.

  12. Every time we are going to have a fire in this town the FD will rehash their grieviances again?

Enough already! Come to terms with the fact that we live in America – a democracy. The people in this town have voted and they have a right to vote as they wish. If you don’t like that, move to Syria where people have no rights.

We appreciate the FD, but we don’t hand over dictatorship rights to you. We can decide for ourselves who should be commissioner and what the budget should be.

Thank you LFD for all your hard work – and to the complainers (within the FD) either grow up or move to Syria (they have plenty of fires to put out).

  13. hey sheeesh , as a firefighter in this town i dont care about the vote sir. you keep saying that , i care about the fact that the towns people wat to cut our budgit again. do you not understand that we are going to need new trucks soon, and that we have been forced to use our surplus . so now when the time comes we will not have the funds available to buy these trucks and equipment to outfit them . all we ask is that the people in lakewood stop trying to have us risk our lives and not have equipment we can count on. everyone says we have brand new trucks . thats not true , we keep our trucks well maintained so you think they are brand new. lets use our head . would you truse your life to a truck that was 20 years old ? we do . and now you want us to risk our lives to equipment thats 25 maybe 30 years old . come on man wake up

  14. Sheesh, If you believe what we have in this township is a democracy then you were asleep in American history class, if you even took one.
Did you decide for yourself or, as usual, did you vote how you were told.
When your schools are closed for American holidays and you show up at the Memorial Day parade and ceremony then I’ll believe you understand what American values, which I have fought for, are.
And yes, they include the right of the firemen to complain.
And as far as moving to Syria, why do you go there and mess with their institutions and see how long you last!
