A fire broke out in a home on Tuesday evening, when a thief attempted to steal piping from the home, sources tell TLS. The thief was reportedly attempting to steal piping from a basement of a vacant home on Manetta Avenue when he caused the home to catch fire.
The fire department responded and extinguished the fire a short time later. No injuries were reported. TLS-GNC.
That’s pretty good considering all the fire was on the 3rd floor with none on the first or second.
Did the thief use a torch? It would have been a lot quicker if they used a saw.
just so happens the property was sold recently… suspicious? i think so
sounds like you got two stories mixed up..
* lakewood firefighter is right- this was a suspicious fire that started in the upstairs that had nothing to do with pipes
* there was a burglary off county line by the golf course where the perpetrator was caught in the act of stealing pipes
