Holiday Parade Celebrated In Downtown

PHOTOS & VIDEO: About a dozen emergency vehicles took part in a parade this afternoon, ahead of the Holidays. The parade, featuring the the LPD’s Traffic & Safety division, the Lakewood Fire Department, Lakewood EMS and Lakewood First Aid, rode down Clifton Avenue, joined by a group of marchers and a band, while families looked on.

The parade came to a stop at Red Square, where children and families enjoyed free candy and more.

  1. I am so sick of the town square being called red square. IT is town square. If the bricks were green would it be called green square. Come on this is in the center of town.

  2. I am so sick of town square being called red square. It is town square. If the bricks were green would it be called green square? It is in the center of town, so therefore it should be known as town square as it was years ago,Before someone decided to change the name.

  3. The term “Red Square” fits very well. Years ago it was called a parking lot. The parking lot was put to much better use for the downtown businesses. Progress is not always a good thing when you need to park and shop.

  4. Can’t we ever just be happy! Why must you always find the negative. The story is not about whether you like “Town Square” or “Red Square” it’s about a Holiday Parade for crying out loud. For once just stop and think before you post something that has nothing to do with the story.

  5. It has been called Red Square for so many years..why change it now? IF you don’t like it don’t come to it…this was for a holiday parade…why do you have to criticize everything that goes on ..love it or leave it..let us be for one flipping minute
