HISTORIC – PHOTOS: Ichud Harabonim formed in Toms River

A monumental meeting of unity took place Wednesday evening in Toms River, with the formation of their new Ichud Harabonim.

The Rabbonim all joined to establish an Ichud to be a unified voice for all matters that exist – or will arise – dealing with Rabbinic issues.

The group was specifically designated not to deal with political issues.

After a meeting between the Rabbonim, the Ichud met with Askonim from the TRJCC and the Agudah to discuss issues relating to the community.

  1. This is really beautiful how all the rabbonim came together in unity to make Toms River a place of true Achdus amongst all.

  2. hopefully the achdus will continue, if they dont desal with political matters, who will? the vaad? perhaps our spiritual leaders should take hold the reins!

  3. This group of Rabbanim actually have the potential of being an actual benefit to the Klal because they are normal level headed people who are on the same level as the people who live here. They aren’t looking for power or authority I dont think (based on some of them who I know, one of them my Rabbi) G-d Bless their efforts and I wish them success.

  4. We should have an Ichud Rabbonim in Lakewood as well. The LJCC. It would unify the whole community and make clear decisions for the community.

  5. This is a beautiful meeting and I’m glad they’re B’achdus. One thing we all can agree on is SAM ELLENBOGEN for TR Mayor !! – He’s a great eye with a heart for the K’lal and the brains to match.

  6. One thing at a time – !st of all Shmully Ellenbogen should be the liason between the laymen & the Rabbonim. This is a no-brainer – Aside from his Leiv Tov and Seichel HaYoshor, he also speaks Yiddish in 3 dialects (Litvish, Chasidish and Ingerish). Then he should run for TR Mayor. This, too, is a no-brainer.
    Hatzlocha Rabbah to all !!

  7. Kudos to the Toms River Rabbanim on getting together with such achdus to create the ichud, Thank you Avi Schanll from Agudah and the members of the Trjcc who put in many hours helping the Klal, You are our unsung heroes!! It is much appreciated!!

  8. Toms River is lucky to have askanim who are involved day in, day out, forging relationships with their neighbors, as a Jackson resident, if only we had a organization like the Trjcc, perhaps the Yidden in Jackson would be better off

  9. Thank you Rabbi Rotberg for being so involved in the community L’Shaym Shamayim and doing it so quietly behind the scenes. No even knows how much effort and time you devote to the Klal.

  10. Anyone know where I can fill out an application to join? I am a respected Rabbi with very conservative views. I love all and I truly want the best for our people. I feel I can truly be the voice of reason. 🙂
