This Open Enrollment is the first time that New Jersey is operating its own health insurance exchange, called Get Covered NJ. Although there are significant savings available, navigating the new platform and accessing the increased assistance can be very confusing. LRRC and JFS are proud to announce that they have joined forces to help all New Jersey residents with this process.
The Lakewood Resource and Referral Center (LRRC) is a social service agency that has been providing health insurance outreach and enrollment services in Ocean County since 2014. This year, for the first time, LRRC is partnering with Jewish Family Service & Children’s Center of Clifton-Passaic (JFS) to provide health insurance enrollment services to residents of Passaic, Clifton, and Northern Jersey.
“The knowledge, experience and connections we have built over 6 years of providing assistance with the Health Insurance Marketplace is invaluable,” says Sarah Sternbach, Executive Director of LRRC. “We are so pleased to have the opportunity to work together with the wonderful case managers at JFS, who are now providing health insurance enrollment services in Passaic, Clifton, and Northern Jersey. We would like to thank Assemblyman Gary Schaer for encouraging collaboration between our two agencies and making this partnership possible.”
If you live in Passaic, Clifton, or Northern Jersey and would like assistance applying for affordable health insurance, contact a JFS Navigator by calling 973-250-6665, e-mailing gcnj@jfsclifton.org, or visit jfsclifton.org/oe. Please note that although Open Enrollment is until January 31, you must enroll in a plan by December 31 for coverage to begin January 1.
