Next Thursday, a high-visibility County-wide enforcement detail is scheduled for Route 70.
The enforcement will take place between 3pm-7pm.
“The intent of this high visibility campaign is to confront the staggering rise in traffic deaths NJ has seen in recent years,” officials said. “Traffic Safety culture and driving behaviors need to change to keep people alive on NJ roadways. Law Enforcement agencies in Ocean County are dedicated to lowering these numbers and keeping our roadways safe. As of today (3/19/2025), 101 people have lost their lives on New Jersey roadways in 2025. 13 of these deaths have occurred in Ocean County.”
These enforcement operations will be held on the roadways in Ocean County on the last Thursday of every month from March through September.
if they really care about road safety they wouldn’t allow the contractor doing the current rt 9 project to leave open holes and other dangerous conditions they left around drains and other hazards.
