Heroes Who Saved Children Pinned Under Vehicle, Honored

PHOTOS & VIDEO: Heroes who gave two small children their lives back after being pinned underneath a vehicle, were recognized and honored by the Township Committee Thursday evening.

Aron Weichbrod, an EMT who had moved from Florida just six weeks before the horrific accident, was the first person to treat the children while still pinned underneath the car, crushed one on top of another. The Good Samaritan who jacked up the vehicle, was never identified.

Weichbrod was driving behind the vehicle which pinned the children, and immediately jumped out of his vehicle and into action, saving the 2 1/2 and 7 year old children’s lives.

The children made a miraculous recovery, and were dischaged from the hospital the same week.

“We’re lucky to have heroes in this room tonight,” exclaimed Mayor Akerman as he called up Aron Weichbrod, as well as the other EMTs who assisted at the scene, an awarded them with a plaque.

Weichbrod was also presented with a large ‘key to the Township, which he can proudly display at his home. TLS.

  1. Please stop using the term “Good Samaritan” it is ment to cast Jews in a bad light: that they are not kind and would leave someone to die on the side of the road.

The term is based on a story in the Christain Bible.

  2. We already have five that’s right 5 hatzolah members covering 5 sqr miles and over a thousand homes that’s way more then enough in lakewood . Every other town in The world has about three to four times that but Lakewood is lakewood
