When was the last time you thanked Hashem that you can breathe?
We, Dov and Gittel thank Him all the time. For we, unfortunately, know what it looks like when one can’t.
When little Tzvi was a few weeks old the doctor dismissed our concerns about our son’s breathing attacks. But we still worried.
Tzvi just turned one and tragically our concern proved to be valid.
A traumatic house fire burned our whole place down a couple of weeks ago and we are now being shuttled from pillar to post. To add more fuel to the fire, in the aftermath Tzvi, literally gasping for breath was rushed into hospital where doctors discovered a perforation in his lungs.
Our sheer relief at discovering the root of the issue is now coupled with the choking burden of raising the the $85,000 it will cost to save our baby’s lungs and enable him to breathe on his own. The alternative is too awful to even contemplate – inserting a breathing tube in our precious Tzviki for life.
How can parents do that to a child?
But how can we possibly come up with such an astronomical sum on our own?
Especially now, after incurring tremendous losses from the fire.
We turn to you from the depths of our broken hearts. We have a few weeks to give our son the gift of unassisted breathing.
When you read this you probably breathed at least 3 times in a healthy manner.
Please, help us give our son the gift of breath.
