Help Lakewood’s children – A letter from R’ Naftali Kriger, Husband of Mrs. Ziva Kriger A”H

zk[COMMUNICATED] Dear Friends, My wife Ziva ז”ל spent day and night dealing with the needs of Lakewood’s children. She serviced all of Lakewood’s children (mostly 3-6 years old and younger and older also), preschools and schools, both special education and regular education.

She was in contact with so many therapists, and educational service providers. She basically provided case management, in conjunction with the group of ladies who were associated with her, for hundreds (probably over a thousand) children a year.

She also served as a point person who was trusted by all and could deal with complicated issues because of her contacts and the role that she played.

Her loss left a void which needed to be filled. In order to fill that void, we formed an organization which currently handles between 700-800 cases per year (a case can be 10 phone calls and run for months and even longer than a year).

We have a full time director (meaning educational case manager) and a part time secretary. We also have an office where many of the associated evaluators perform evaluations.

Our services are given to the community at no charge. If evaluations are done by associated evaluators, they are paid directly- with nothing going back to the organization, except the additional burden of follow up work which we provide.

The associated evaluators keep their costs down by charging only $75 for the evaluation and follow up. We still continue managing the case at no charge.. Our current staff is maxed out. The currently budget is over 10k a month. We want to add some services.

We are trying to raise 200k in a triple matching campaign. Our family and others will give 50k with another 100k from individual donors if the final 50k is raised from the public. The organization services all of Lakewood’s children (3-6 years old), preschools and schools, both special education and regular education.

All help given to these children at these critical ages is truly an ounce of prevention which is worth a pound of cure.

Thank You for taking the time to read this and thank you for your help with this very worthy cause.

Sincerely

Naftali Kriger
