A young scooterist who collided with a vehicle on Erev Shabbos in Lakewood was saved by his helmet, emergency personnel tell TLS.
The incident happened on Walnut Avenue around 4:00 PM.
The boy, seven, suffered some broken bones, and was transported to JSUMC. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Correction, he was saved by Hashem! Helmets are hishtadlus but don’t get fooled!
If he did not wear a helmet his brains would be scattered. You are a fool.
Jake is a fool. It is mutar to say lashon hara about an apikores!
& he was almost killed by his scooter. Lets have that conversation.
My 2 cents on this issue, i am appalled that parents allow their children to ride these scooters without basic safety education. Kids and bachurim ride them recklessly, on side walks and on streets, thinking that small hats equal helmets and that tefilin bags are airbags. They dangerously cut off drivers by zooming in front of them without regard for safety. Dont claim to care about your children and about others while giving your child zero safety direction and without monitoring their conduct when using those deadly toys.
