Heat Wave In Forecast For N.J. All Week; Temperatures To Reach 100 Degrees; Health Advisory In Effect Today

PHOENIX HEATGet ready for the heat wave. Meteorologists are predicting temperatures will hover in the high 90s this week, topping out at 100 degrees on Tuesday. Today, Independence Day, will be sunny with a high near 94 and a low of about 68 degrees, according to meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Mount Holly. An air quality health advistory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection. The advisory means that air quality in the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.

Monday will be sunny and even hotter, with a high near 97 degrees, a low of around 71.

Tuesday will feel like a furnace, as the mercury rises to 100 degrees, with a low of only 74 at night. Full story in Star Ledger.
