These children may not know it, but if their home isn’t purchased back from the bank within 24 hours, they will have to leave the residence they grew up in, due to extreme unfortunate circumstances.
In a letter submitted last week, and verified with Rabbonim, the father writes about the circumstances that left the large family with no choice but to ask for help.
Approximately $18,000 was raised here in the past few days, and though there doesn’t appear to be any way to raise the necessary funds before the deadline, we’re putting it out there in hopes that perhaps the right Shliach may see it.
In the event the family is evicted, the money will still go towards assistance for the family.
Tizku L’mitzvos.
Maybe somebody can buy it off the bank as a loan to the family and work out a payment plan to get paid back. I understand the hesitation of ppl to be able to just pay the remaining amount of money but if that money will be paid back to you, as it seems the family is working to get back on their feet, then this could even be the greatest form of tzedaka.
I really hope someone reading this grabs the opportunity. If I had the funds I would do it myself!
If you still need a push maybe a hater iska can be worked that you buy it as an investment and they pay back at a profit…..
Hopefully that not needed but if its the only way… Let’s help this family!
Save them sombody
Maybe thy should contact rechnits he will for sure bail them out
Contact reb yonnessen strasser. He is a great baal tzedakah. Or oh. Meir fishel from melano. He is something out of the ordinary

#1- so I guess you were not tuned in to the Oorahton this past Motzei Shabbos to hear R’ Shlomo Yehudah Rechnitz (#3- notice how its spelt) talk about the issue of lending with ribis (interest) and the complexity of lending even with heter iska.
If the lakewood tzibur would kick in to high gear in such a case, as they do if someone is niftar or has yena machla Chas v’sholom. Who knows how many torso it would prevent? Why wait untill its tragic Chas v’shalom?
#1 had a good suggestion. That a wealthy person, or organization can put up the money and get paid back with the funds collected by the askonim. If that`s not enough, then to set up a fund to repay the loan. I`m sure that over 12-18 months the loan can be repaid with some diligence from the askonim. Please- this isn`t a joke! These children can be scarred for life!!
There are plenty of rentals available for thiss size family. You just have tobe willing to make the move.
why isn’t this being raised to a national or global level. someone who is an expert in fundraising needs to take charge of this.
I will put up $100,000 if a couple of known askonim will undertake to get me the money back within 6 months and two more people jump in to put up the remaining 150 thats needed
To mom. That is not so. Making backseat driver comments is unhelpful. First of all people do not wish to rent to such a large size family. Second og all one has to see what is being rented. Number of bedrooms doesnt tell you the size of the bedrooms. Ive seen 4 bdrm houses bigger than 5-6 bdrm toWnhouses. are the bedrooms 8×10, 12×18, or 20 x18. Just because it has bedrooms doesnt mean you can fit the family correctly, one must also see the size.
Chaim, That is an unbelievable offer, HKB”H should repay you.
I don’t live in the tri-state area, but a few ideas, for anyone involved:
1. Once a significant sum has been raised, can someone negotiate on their behalf with the bank? Eviction costs the bank money, as does putting the house up for sale. Just as credit card debt can be bargained down, it is reasonable to try bargaining with the bank, if not on the amount, at least to get an extension of time, with at least 10% ready now.
2. I don’t know how it works in Lakewood, but with the father’s health history and salary and the size of the family, aren’t they eligible for HUD? If yes, perhaps raising the 300k is not the best idea, and rather have an askan or philanthropist put down the 300k, buy the house for himself, and allow them to rent it from him. The money raised can help the family get on their feet and pay him rent until HUD kicks in. If the HUD is available to them, and the new house owner will make a nice amount of rent, he can have a sound financial investment and a tremendous mitzva at the same time.
Meanwhile I’ve made my modest donation, and I am having them in mind in my tefilos!
If every person who sees this gives just $1.00, we’d have a few hundred in a matter of minutes. This is about what can I as an INDIVIDUAL do to help? It’s easy to talk about ideas involving help from philanthropic sources, but wouldn’t it storm the gates of heaven if we, average people would step out of comfort zone to help a jew in pain? I ask you my frieds, what would YOU do if this were YOUR house or YOUR children?
So what happened? It’s 24 hrs later. Can someone update.
despite a valiant effort on the part of so many, the family has lost the ability to buy back our house. Someone has put down a sizeable non refundable deposit with the bank and is moving to close. They are within their rights to do so (both halachically and by law) A moving company has been contacted and storage facilities secured for the family’s belongings. They do not have a place to move to yet. A formal article to the scoop is forth coming. Sad day.
Everyone help as they could. .food…support. .money….I see wats going on as iam involved n the situation there are funds bieng collected but by all means if u have a contact that can help ..get him on board asap!!!
