Hearing loud booms in Lakewood?

If you’re hearing loud booms in Lakewood, or feeling the ground shake, there’s nothing to be concerned about.

The noises are coming from the Joint Base MDL, where they are training with howitzers on the ranges.

Keep in mind, cloud coverage can amplify the booms and make the sounds travel further.

The training will continue until December 3rd, the Base told TLS.
