The following, from the Jacob Ostreicher blog, is an update on today’s failed hearing in Bolivia: Today, the 22nd hearing for Jacob Ostreicher, was an exact replica of the June 11th hearing.
42 days ago, when the last hearing took place, the judge was asked to recuse himself from the case. While still waiting for the higher court to decide, another hearing was scheduled with a different judge.
The legal advisor of the Minister of Government asked the judge to recuse herself on the grounds that she could not be impartial. The judge refused but referred it to a higher court. Can it be any more obvious? The Minister of Government is trying to avoid allowing Jacob to stand in front of the judge and get a fair hearing.
Jacob Ostreicher went back on the bus to prison where he spent the past 14 months. His family and close friends are in awe of the proceedings, and are pleading with the state department to put more pressure.
So far, no new date has been scheduled.

Nebach, how much can a man suffer….
thats because we still did nt change since thi case & sad situation started
TIME for klal yisroel to come together with achdus & no sinas chinam-ONLY THEN can Hashem release him & bring Mashiach i.e. after we can show love & care for every yid-on every level rather frum, chassidish frei or other… etc…-this is also why RUbashkin happened-bec. of lack of ACHDUS in klal yisroel
MAY ALL YIDDEN COME TOGETHER ASAP & may these innocent prisoners be freed & sent home ASAP & may mashiach come ASAP
we need to step up the momentum again…..
How much longer will my uncle suffer like this??? its so painful. hashem should send him a speedy yeshua.
Terrible. Terrible. Nevertheless, I wonder if maybe just this one time- in Chodesh Av and right in the middle of the 9 days, maybe it’s better that the hearing wasn’t held? After all, Chazal say a yid should avoid having court cases during this time. I just wish they wouldn’t have schlepped him all the way there & got hopes up only to have them dashed and him schlepped back again. H-Shem should send him and all Yidden who are in terrible situations -including all of us, Klal Yisroel, from this golus-a very speedy geulah sheleima.
this whole situation is an utter outrage! It’s disgusting how the United States government is turning a blind eye to what is going on. I truly believe that they simply don’t care! (big deal!, Bloomberg, Patterson & others publicly denounced what was going on, A lot of good that did – haven’t heard anything since – that I’m aware of) What other explanation can there possibly be for our country not to impose severe sanctions. Everyone knows that Israel wouldn’t stand for one of their own being held captive like this! This man Jacob ( & family), is undergoing a tremendous test!
what is he accused of?
Name for Tehilim?
we do not know why hashem brings specific tzaros to klal yisorel but you are right that every person should look at themselves and work on something sprirtually. but to say thats the reason is a little extreme…. but dont get me wrong jewish people need to always being doing tehsuva thats our job in this world
“…are in awe of the proceedings?” What does that mean?
First of all I would never rely on the American gov’t. for anything. Second of all what can we individuals do for his zechus – maybe we can each take upon ourselves just one small improvement in our lives – collectively that will add up to a lot of zechusim for him.
His family and close friends are in awe of the proceedings? What does that mean?
We need to set up a rally at Bulivia Consulate. We should do it this week.

What did he do to get arrested? What are they accusing him of? It is very strange that their government should be holding him this long. There must be some reason they are giving
