Hearing For CDBG Funds To Be Held Later This Month

A hearing for the application of Community Development Block Grants funds will be held at the Township later this month, Committeeman Steven Langert who serves as the liaison to the CDBG committee, tells TLS.

The committee will hear from those applying to receive a part of the federal grant at a public meeting, and then notify those who qualify.

The CDBG funds allocated for Lakewood this year is $873,048, a slight increase from last year.

There are strict guidelines for the funds, and at least 15% must be earmarked for public sector services.

In December last year, 25 organizations is Lakewood received checks from the fund.

Basically, the federal government has borrowed $800,000 from China and gave it to a few beserre mentchen here in Lakewood to give out to whomever they decide.

We, the taxpayers, will someday need to pay back China all this money. It will come out of our paychecks – and more specifically our childrens’ and grandchildrens’ paychecks – through higher taxes.

Think about that, CDBG, as you dole out our children’s money.

(I don’t mean to be cynical about Lakewood in particular. This is going on all over the country, where the federal government continues to borrow from China and use that money as “special grants” to different organizations. In some places, they give the money to the local NAACP, or the local “Committee to study the effect of caterpillars on the surrounding ant population”, and so on. Only Tea Party Congressmen are voting against this garbage, everyone else – including “moderate” Republicans, but especially the Democrats – are helping our generation steal from our children.)

I will start an organization dedicated to feeding my wife and children and paying our mortgage. Will I be eligible for a grant?
