Hatzolah Takes On Two Members For Summer

hatz_rig_at_sceneIn an effort to keep the response time to it’s all-year standards, Hatzolah has taken on two additional Summer members, sources tell TLS. The members are there as temporary replacements for full time members who leave for camps or the Catskills for the Summer season.

  1. I don’t understand why they are temps if you need more members for the summer take on 2 new members and during the year the closest members respond if they are the closest members why not let them respond the rest of the year give this town what we need were growing and hatzolah must grow with us

  2. why wait we need more memmbers now! hatzolah should not take temps but add more members the town is growing tremendously Bli A’H and we need more members spread out across lakewood. Most current members are on Hatzola from when this town was less than a quarter of what it is today.

  3. “Better coverage” involves having more members available for that coverage. Can someone please explain the rationale for Hatzolah being hyper-selective to who it takes on. Thanks.

  4. To Henry (#7): If you are a Hatzolah member, I would be afraid to have you come to my aid in an emergency. Your spelling is so bad that I wonder if you understood the training manuals used in preparing you for EMS service.

  5. i think you have opened a pondoras box with this news item
their are many of us who feel that any public tzibur organization that comes to the public for money as hatzala indeed does should in general be open for the public to join its ranks. though its obvious that not anyone that applies should be allowed to join for many obvious reasons but to have it run as it does now (since its inception) as an exclusive club isnt morally correct, when hatzala expects, obligates each family to support them with a minimum donation annually
besides their is no comparison to bp or flatbush as lakewood covers a much larger area and having more members does cut down on the response time.
when seconds count it behooves one to think that hatzala which is an organization charged with saving lives would at the expense of its whole purpose not take in additional members in order for it to remain exclusive to those that are currently on its squad

  6. If someone has the training and credentials why are they not allowed to Volunteer? I thought no one wanted to Volunteer and that is why ambulances are paid?

  7. To #18 can you please clarify what side your on . On one hand you post that hatzolah being and i quoit “a public tzibur organization that comes to the public for money as hatzala indeed does should in general be open for the public to join its ranks”. But then just a line later you say “its obvious that not anyone that applies should be allowed to join.” and that it’s run as a club. I ask you who should be making the decision of whom to take on and who should not be taken on but the organization it self????????. Hatzolah goes to the tzibur for funding so that it can continue to provide the service we all count on. That service which is provided to there detractors and supporters alike with out bias or malice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
