Hatzolah Elects Captains And New Vaad Member

Hatzolah_LogoAs in past years, Hatzolah members have elected their Captains for the year. Two of the last years’ Captains have been reelected with one Captain replaced. R’ Simcha Shain and R’ Aron Echstien have been reelected and R’ Sender Gewirtzman has been newly elected, replacing R’ Meir Lichtenstien. R’ Sender has been with Hatzolah of Lakewood for 14 years and is a member of Boro Park Hatzolah as well. Also tonight, Reb Yossi Hershkowitz has been elected as a new Vaad member.

  1. That’s why a lady almost died from choking (@bais avrohom) while waiting almost for 10min for hatzlaho to show up while 20 ladies stood watching her turn blue in disbelief! Well guess what? They were all siting by the meeting!?!

  2. its time for Hatzolah to be run by a transparent vaad enough of all this inside fighting and politics Hatzolah is not a private org its a mosad that belongs to the tzibbur adding one member is an embarresment and a spit in the face of the tzibbur while kakewood has grown tenfold ,hatzolah has not been active in adding services and manpower to the new developments they are more concerned of their own respect than that of the tzibbur.

i think we should outsource hatzola too!!
YOU PROBABLY DO NOT READ THE NEWS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED IN NEW YORK WITH 2 EMS WORKERS WHO WENT IN TO A BAGEL SHOP WERE ASKED TO HELP A DYING WOMAN THEY REPLYED CALL 911 TOOK THEIR FOOD AND LEFT ….HATZOLAH GETS PAYED FROM NO ONE ALL THEY DO IS RUN TO SAVE A FELLOWS LIFE WITH OUT GETTING A PENNY IN RETURN WOULD SUCH A STORY EVER HAPPEN WITH A HATZOLAH MEMBER THEY KNOW NOTHING BUT HELPING WITH MESIRAS NEFESH

  4. why only appoint one new member?? H&tzolah has an obligation to the klal to make sure there is enough manpower available throughout lakewood time to add members and stop worrying about steping on the toes of the veterans

  5. while lakewoos has been experiencing a tremendous growth hatzolah is not doing enough to add members especially in the new growing devlopments of town most current members live on the older established part of town and there are many areas not covered at all by hatzolah they are too worried about justifiying to their own members but not about justifying to the klal

  6. rabbosi its time for the olam to have a say in the operating of hatzolah there is a shortage of EMT’s yet the club of current members and captains will keep it as close knit as possible without electing NEW members and spreading out to the new developments of town do we need a tragedy RL to change the mentality.

  7. Due to Hatzolah being run as a “Boys Club” and not acceprting enough members to cover all areas we narrowly averted a tragedy at the last minute last night due to all memebers being in one location R”L

  8. while Hatzolah continues to raise funds from ALL of klakewood it is not being proactive in adding members in new areas of town that don’t have any members at all yet there is a lot of current members that are not that avtive but officialy on the roster hogging a spot its time for change in the leadership the People deserve a say.its not a PRIVATE MOSAD it belongs to the klal.

  9. Let’s vote in independant captain and vaad members into hatzola if not let’s cut the funding!! The response time is horrible to areas like raintree, brookhill, chestnut etc.. Its time to turn this into a public org not a private club

  10. This blog was long coming. We need more members. Rabbi Heshkowitz- please add more members. I live in Agway and we dont have any hatzoloh guys here. Lets not wait for tragedy RL.

  11. Hatzolah deserves our thanks. All the members are out there to help each & every one of us. Let’s just pray that we should never need their assistance. THANK YOU HATZOLAH!

  12. This is the tip of the iceberg with major problems at the current leadership in running hatzolah they d not want to give up control and want to keep it as a private club enough is enough! its time for neighborhood liasons to look out for the areas not being serviced by hatzola .its time for all old inactive members to step aside and make room for new young blood. Its time to be proactive and cultivate NEW members not pater zich up with transplanting a former member of brooklyn hatzolah …

  13. to #15 you missed the point no one is saying hatzolah does not do a good job the issue is they are NOT doing enough too much ego and pride involved among some members which makes it much harder to recruit and give over power to younger or other new members.

  14. a real story: a lady was chokeing last night at a mlava malka of a school, she fell to the floor & turned blue in front of 200 people . they called hatzolah and waited and waited ..for 10min. untill someone came! the END was b”h not a tragedy becouse one of the ladeis did cpr.BUT it was a neis. the bottem line hatzolah Needs more -much more- members before it cost an other life! how much is a life worth? the kvod of a hatzolah member? if it was that they needed more difibulaters the whould ask use all for $! rite? so why if we need more member to cover the expaneded lakewood the answer is No? its hazolas nefoshos . if it was only for hatzolah the lady last night whould have been dead! & we whould have had a levyah today! b”h the one obove was the ‘echta’ shomer u’matzil last night!
p.s. you are most probabley not going to post it! but please pass it on! ty

  15. Reply to #20(yakov)
they most probably going to say it was only 5min and so on. They problem is there were 150-200 ladies there that saw it and call there husbands so we happen to know the truth! My wife called 7min apart that no one came ,so it was ‘at least’ more then 7min.

  16. To anon 11:43
Agway?!?! I don’t think there is a part of town with better coverage day or night you have a hatzolah paramedic that live a 30 second walk from you in the villas and two members that work on the corner of east end and county line by day
You just have an ax to grind with hatzolah…..let me guess you put in an application and was turned down correct ?
So stop bashing and start appreciating

  17. Mazel Tov L 19 on your re-election to captain – not many know how hard you work for the klal not only as a veteran hatzolah member and paremedic, but also in many ways you are there for the tzibbur. I’m one of those that’s sees you first hand doing what you do best….. helping others. Keep it up.

  18. To “used to say it” #23, Agway might be covered during the week but on shabbos I need to walk into the villas with my baby if I have a non-pikuach nefesh problem. If hes not home i need to leave the eiruv to walk far into brookhill. My husband asked a rov and he said theres no heter to carry outside the eiruv.
    Please give agway a member.

  19. And if the member wouldn’t be home in agway then you would have to walk to brookhill anyway so putting a member in every house is not always the answer just look at flat bush 400 plus members no coverage

  20. this is sickening,i see a parallel .the same people from NY yelling they should be on hatzoloh ,are yelling their kids should be let into schools. as soon as they get in (Hatzoloh Or school) they say there are no problems and the next meshugener starts yelling “more members more schools”.i see pure selfishness in these outcrys. rabosi its a din gavra not a din cheftza.the issue is not hatzolah or schools ,its you!! dont come to our kehilla and push us “your values”. vehuya machanechu kodosh!! thank you hatzloh & thank you schools!

  21. The nasty comments some of you post on this site are nauseating. How dare you criticize anyone! Are you all perfect? Until you are, keep your mouths shut! Maybe if you spent your time in the bais medresh instead of on the Internet the world would be a much better place. The next time you feel the need to put your two cents in, put it in a pushka where it’ll do some good.

  22. hatzolah rocks – all of you are a bunch of ungrateful wananbes. you just complain complain complain – such negative people. whether its about the township, the county, the state or your own backyard you all need to learn a bit of positive thankfulness. Go find something to do with your lives and stop complaining so much. you should never need Hatzolah but if you ever do you will know how wonderful and amazing they all are. May they continue to do such great work. THANK YOU HATZOLAH!
