Has The Internet Asifa ‘Worked’ ?

PHOTO: Has Sunday’s Asifa ‘worked’? The attached picture can answer that question. A real estate office in Lakewood which employs approximately 15 men and women, hung up a framedpicture of Sunday’s Asifa at Citi Field, along with a ticket stub, saying, “As of 5/21/12, this office has an Internet filter.”

Asked which part of the Asifa inspired him to make the big change, the business owner tells TLS, “It was Reb Ephrayim Waxman’s speech, how the Internet will ruin future generations of our children if we go online.”

Over 50,000 people gathered for the historic Asifa.

Did th e asifa work? Is like asking a drunk after his first session at AAA whether he it worked. Its way too early to know, especially since many walked away from the asifa more confused then before they went in because the asifa didn’t contain any concrete ways of filtering. It was everything but.

I just intalled a filter on my android phone. Though in my opinion the big issue that was mentioned but didnt get that much attantion is the time wasted on “kosher sites” that filters dont block…. How many times a day do we check these sites for updates….

Why would any self-respecting office manager not have a filter on the company computers/WiFi? Jewish or not, this is something basic.

It worked for me. It was mechazek my emunah (which thanks to the internet was going downhill) and convinced me to get a filter.

So is everyone getting rid of the internet – even filtered – at home?

I think the point of the asifa was to make everyone take one step closer to the right – if that means no internet great ,Filter also great but we all need to be working on ourselves

Embarrassed

We did not need a Asifa to tell us to put in a filter.

As Rabbi Waxman said,

Yidden were on the 49th level of tuma. Right before it was too late, Hashem took them out of the Mitzrayim. Then they began to count sfirah, each day moving up the ladder 1 level at a time.

On the first day of sfirah, klal yisroel moved up from teh 49th level to the 48th level.

Did anyone start asking, “Did it work?” Or were they smart enough to realize that this is a long process, but that we need to take the first step and slowly move up the ladder from one level of tuma to the next as we move closer to kdusha.

The results cannot be measured right away.

Yes, the asifah worked! Big time!

(Obviously, some people already hit the 50th level of tumah, and nothing will help them anymore. No asifah would have helped for them. Bye bye to them. I hope their grandchildren will be Jewish, let alone frum.)

to Yid. Please refrain from ever uttering such words as in -sorry its too late for you. Dont make decisions for Hashem and for his children as to who will do Teshuva. You can be sincere and devoted to the cause(as you should be) without such wrong talk.

The point

The main point of the Asifa was not the internet! The main point was the fact of K’dushas K’lal Yisrael, and 50,000 Jews gathered together for one purpose -Kiddush Hashem! As was emphasized by Rabbi Waxman, one of the ways a Jew shows who he is, is by surfing the internet properly

I am shocked that in lakewood “ir hatorah” this office needed a 50,000 plus asifah to know that you have to install a filter with 15 men and women working in the same office.Gevalt …How far have we fallen! What kind of am haratzim do these people think bais din shel maaleh is.Up there they are not fooled Oh now I know! just before I didnt! They should be embarrassed to hang up the sign to advertiseto lakewood the lack of busha that they had unfiltered internet before

and once I mention the asifah… What was with all the clapping during Reb Mattisyahu shlitah and Reb ephraim waxmen shlita? what is this ? a baseball game? what is going on with us? We just heard fiery mussar ! would this happen in BMG or Vien?Am I the only one that was listening from out of town that was stunned by this?

when is the asifa for TESHUVA going to be? don’t we want all these tragedied to come to an end already? havent we seen enough tzaros already & need mashiach already ASAP?

yesterday 8 lives were taken from the world in Tiveria ISRAEL in a accident
BOTH parents & 6 children were niftar

i.e. ONCE AGAIN TRAGEDY STRIKES AGAIN BY HASHEM

are we going to EVER get hashems wake-up call for teshuva? or will we just let it pass & think we can fool Hashem like we don’t know why such tragic events happen R”L?

TZAROS in klal yisroel is getting worse & worse by the day ALL due to one reason
HASHEM IS WAITING FOR US TO RETURN TO HIM & DO TESHUVA SO HE CAN BRING MASHIACH & RETURN TO US.

HOW much more tzaros will need to happen C”V before we do teshuva? that is up to us. it can all end today.

Which filter is there for android? Can’t find one in app market

Chicago Telzer!

You picked a great word to mess up on. HARATZIM!!

You remind me of the 9th grader that asked, “BY THE WAY, REBBE, WHAT DOES AGAV MEAN?”.

yankel

for android, you can download k9 browser, and then disable the regular browser. it would also be a good idea to download an app locker from the market and then lock the market, or just delete the market altogether to avoid the ease of just downloading another browser. BTW, the market itself is full of inappropriate content

k-9 works for me. set on the strichtest setting. no blogs no social media ets. im a free! i have so much extra time on my hands now…….im thinking of starting a new moisid. any good ideas? Im just afraid all the blogs will start declassifying themselves as blogs…..like tls did years ago…..then i might get into them again….but for now we are good. i didnt need rabbi wachsman to tell me how to filter. just google k-9 filter…..its the first thing that pops up. follow the instructions and in 2 and a half minutes its installed. set it to the highest setting and you can even make it be the only search engine so no more google etc. if you want ( i did that have the best protection) its simple. im sure thee are other great options but there are many and they are simple. no need for 50k @ a stadium to teach you how to filter. they just needed to teach you that you must filter.

adressing number 17 i think your exactly wrong bec we always thought like you. Now we had the asifa to tell us we cant do it without the filter!

Unfortunately, Facebook problems are more widespread than people think. Why do you think TLS posted this article.
