  1. Does anyone here know the reason why they moved the platform near the park area you couldn’t see a thing it was nice but it was very hard to see

  2. thay hade it ther 4 a savty resonse and was ther . And this time I think it was bether then all the athar times my kids whar not skared or cring this time and I have little ones two and thay injayed it. it would have ben nise two tell pepple that it mooved ther that we would be perpared fore it but thank you.

  3. What about thanking all the firefighters, police, ems workers and other emergency services workers that took time out of their busy schedules to stand by and make sure the celebration (as boring as it was) to be a safe and productive night? Remember you have a Volunteer Fire Department and Volunteer First Aiders that do this for free. You thank the Mayor like he was the organizer of the event..all he did was approve the budget for the night..the organizers were someone he appointed to do the job, set up the event, book the fireworks company get all the services to sync …What about all these people?? I know we don’t really matter in this area but for me..I matter..

  5. Very enjoyable but not a very large turnout for the music portion of the event.
wouldn’t it be nice if more Lakewood people supported our local events. Perhaps more advertising is necessary.

  6. I used to see letters in botei Midrashim intown, saying it is assur to, because it is a chag of Anoi Yehudim. Is it mutter when it is a nidche or mukdam?
    Just wondering.

  7. Of course, all the residents support all the volunteer emergency workers.

The person that thanked Mr. Langert did not intend to disrespect you or any of the volunteers.
He or she thanked the Mayor for not cancelling the event as many towns did.
Oh and BTW, I am an Orthodox Jewish member of Lakewood that strongly supports ALL volunteer emergency services. To claim as you did that, ” I know we don’t really matter in this area but for me..I matter” is both disrepectful to an entire community and totally UNTRUE.
Both myself,  my family, my friends appreciate all that you and all the dedicated volunteers do.

How someone can take a festive event and spin it in such a hateful way is mindboggling!

Happy Holidays my friend we appreciate you all. Now please tone down the rhetoric. Thank You.

  8. I couldn’t have said it better my self.

I too was very bothered by the undertones of #7.

Thank you for expressing your support for all volunteers and at the same time politely admonishing the volunteer for the disrespect shown.

  9. I was there and it was fantastic. To the guy who said trees were blocking why didint ya move? To myrna, Jews right now are forbidden to listen to music during this period of the year , please don’t take it personally .

  10. as a volly your first statement means alot. but to say the whole town cares, is more than a little white lie. “To claim as you did that, ” I know we don’t really matter in this area but for me..I matter” is both disrepectful to an entire community and totally UNTRUE.” come on a few calls with us, or just show your support for us. each fire house raises under 30.000.00 a yr ( yes they get taxes) the lakewood first aid cant even afford to give there vollonteers the basic clothing to wear. yet many on there own buy out of there own pocket they own gear. Please speak for your self and keep it to your self. unless you get out here and help us. or atleast help out with $$$

  11. I would just like to thank Mr. Langert for the low turnout, the reason why no one was there is because yesterday was July 1 which is Canada Day.

#7 Who said people didn’t thank them I personally thanked anyone I saw in uniform, (although I did see the Mayor and did not thank him)

I would like to thank the Officer that was giving out stickers to all the children, that is someone that goes out of his way to do something that he didn’t have to do.

  12. We’ve gone every year and enjoyed the fireworks, the municipal band and the municipal chorus very much. Sadly, we were not in attendance this year due to lack of publicity about the July 1 date.

  13. I do support this town. I am a volunteer here and I do respect the majority of people here..but there are the choice few, not everyone, that think being a volunteer is beneath them..I never named names..never will..But, I sat there with the 7 other members of my fire company, the most we got from the residents are questions like: Why do we need a ladder truck in Lakewood? What is the purpose of sitting here for fireworks? Questions like that..not once did we hear “you guys to a great job, Thank you.” I volunteer because I want to..
to this statement: each fire house raises under 30.000.00 a yr, show me where I raise $30,000 a year. Our operating budget is 1/5 of that and I do that every year as far as I know. All 5 fire companies in this town run off donations. My fire company is one of those.
Look, I know I spout off but when you are annoyed with the goings on in this town, many of us do but I am not going to apologize for stating what I feel is a Railroad job to the emergency services of this town. What is the basic clothing for a First Aider?? I thought as volunteers they wear street clothes..they actually have uniforms then that is news to me. I wear street clothes under my fire gear. I do not wear a uniform. I know the LFA work hard, I talk to them all the time. I know all the volunteers in this town work hard..but the volunteers are going to do more and more with less and less. It is going to get harder before it gets better..so for now I will keep my mouth shut, but like most that doesn’t get anything done. I am proud to say I am a Lakewood Twp Resident and have been for the better part of my 45 yrs alive..and would do anything for anyone that asked me to help..especially LFAS,LEMS,LFD those people I work with all the time, but any help I can do I will do..

And to #15 — Thank You
