Names for tehillim?
Welcome to the new daily Lakewood. Lakewood wasn’t built for the car traffic and hasn’t upgraded it’s infrastructure accordingly.
These accidents are happening because there is no normal way of turning onto New Hampshire, especially from Chestnut. How in the world does the township allow these housing developments without proper traffic patterns and traffic lights in place. You can’t always blame the drivers, theycan be waiting to make the turn for half an hour if they don’t take any chances.
so what!!! what is the problem with waiting. That is part of problem no one has no patience.
I don’t know if people text or not and that’s why they get into accidents but I know that being on your phone while your driving is a huge distraction and we must Bring it to an abrupt end. THERE SHOULD BE A MOVEMENT CALLED “ונשמרתם מאוד לנפשותכם
Time for a traffic signal at the corner of Chestnut and New Hampshire
There’s an accident there daily.
Actually numerous accidents daily.
Very tough intersection.
Tehillim names?
It’s an everyday occurrence. Do any other towns in New Jersey have this high a rate of auto accidents? Why is Lakewood so bad?
Because Lakewood is overbuilt
Why is Lakewood so bad? There are many answers, which complement one another:
1. Overbuilding without proper road infrastructure (not enough road, lanes, lights, turning lanes) for the rapidly expanding population
2. Everyone is always in a rush
3. People don’t use common sense or display road courtesy
4. There is much speeding, phone usage, trying to catch the yellow light before it turns red, ignoring stop signs, turning where prohibited, and general attitude that traffic laws and signs are either mere suggestions, or only apply to others.
so…… that’s two reasons
It was at 7:00 am – not too much traffic then.
I have to turn at that intersection every day and it’s a NIGHTMARE of a dangerous intersection! It seriously has to be one of the worst intersections in Lakewood.
Intersection needs a traffic light (with a turning signal) desperately.
The obvious solution is to keep rapidly building Lakewood up. Once, due to overwhelming amount of vehicles, all the traffic everywhere in town slows down to 2 mph, the only possible accidents will become the bumpy cars ones – scratches and minor dents.
Therefore, I propose for immediate approval of another 1,000 units anywhere along Rt 9, or anywhere else where traffic is already close to parking lot speeds.
As I always stress in these columns, since the Orthodox are expanding into other surrounding towns (and your leadership is preparing for this) please tell them to plan for the infrastructure needed to accommodate your community’s growth.
It’s all day everyday! I am on New Hamshire constantly as I live right off it. I dread going down from 70 to 88. So many near misses! Sometimes I will take the Parkway and get off in Brick and come down 88 just to avoid all the nonsense. It’s dangerous people don’t know how to drive and they all Drive distracted. No wonder our insurance is so freaking High.
this is why we need Vision Zero like traffic calming in Lakewood desperately.
What we really need, is for police to write tickets lots of tickets for traffic violations. When there will be fear of the police in the population, safety will be restored to the roads
Marc, your comment is hilarious. Problem is the bought off zoning people may take you seriously.
To Rivka. Why don’t you make a right handed turn drive down the highway a bit, and when it’s absolutely safe make a fast u-turn and continue along your merry way. I’m willing to bet you it’s safer that way.
