PHOTOS & VIDEO: A handcuffed teen stopped by State Police for underage driving, ran from the Trooper – apparently in fear of getting arrested, police tell TLS.
The approximately 15 year-old teen was stopped yesterday on the Garden State Parkway by a State Police Trooper driving an unmarked vehicle. As the Trooper placed the unidentified teen in his vehicle to drive him to his Woodlake Manor home, the Trooper – for his own protection – handcuffed the teen, police say.
Once in Woodlake Manor however, the teen reportedly lied to the Trooper about his name and place of residency.
With the driver’s door to the unmarked car open, the teen decided to make a run for it, police say.
The teen reportedly then jumped over the seat from the back of the car and ran out the open driver’s side door.
The State Trooper contacted the Lakewood Police Department for their assistance in locating the handcuffed teen.
The LPD called the County to send a K-9 unit, but after searching the area and the nearby park, they gave up.
A short time later, a Lakewood officer was flagged down by a Woodlake Manor resident who said the teen was hiding in a closet in their home.
Police surrounded the home, and arrested the teen. TLS.
what a loser
This juvenile apparently has quite a delinquent future ahead. The law enforcement officials need to make sure the public is protected from this teen perp’s future “mistakes”
Poor guy prob scared out of his mind!!
But is he a “renter”?
Whats this about everything being a renter? Are you a homeowner, paying taxes? Everybody doesn’t have someone helping them own property. Renters can have just as a good life ,some are struggling to save for a down payment on what propertys are left in Lakewood, that the average person maybe would be allowed to buy.
The Trooper must feel very humiliated he will probably be the target of many jokes at the barracks
Ma Hu Rachum- Af Atah. EVERYBODY deserves a second chance. including YOU!
I agree with Dexter. Just so horrible for the kid.
You wouldn’t be saying poor kid if he crashed into you and your family because he didn’t know how to drive
I think we should have spent more money to raise this boy in a better environment
I agree withAnnon & genius .Give this kid a break. Growing up in Lakewood isn’t easy! So glad I moved out 2 months ago.
how is it the K-9 unit was unable to pick up any scents? usually they are pretty successful in helping tracking down suspects.I too feel sympathy for the trooper who was responsible for securing the teen.Lesson learned – keep your eyes on your suspect .You never know what one will do especially when frightened and or desperate.
good people cannot rent in Lakewood!!! I’m trying For one month to rent in Lakewood and I can’t.
Right, blame it on growing up in Lakewood. Typical. If you notice it said he LIED about his name and residency.
frightened (moderated) !! he done just what any criminal would do, RUN. stop saying “oh po little ghetto child, he be on his own since he be 9 year ole, give da kid a break.
well this is just rediculous
anybody will be afraid of a police killer dog
#16 – ARE YOU (moderated)?
THE DOG WASN’T CALLED IN, UNTIL AFTER THE KID RAN OFF.
Typical liberal, always trying to victimize the criminals
