Guns Drawn, Cops Surround Man With Fake Shot Gun

Carrying a toy gun could end up getting you shot by police. At about 9:30PM last night, police received a call from a man who claimed to have seen a driver in area of the Singin gas station with a shot gun.

Police swarmed the area and located the alleged perpetrator’s vehicle at the gas station.

Cautiously approaching the vehicle, the officers drew their weapons and ordered the man exit the vehicle and drop his weapon, according to reports. There was no response,, because the car was empty.

Several minutes later, it became apparent the alleged perpetrator was at 1st Street and Madison Avenue.

Eye witnesses say about 8 officers located the man and surrounded him with their guns drawn.

It turns out the gun was a fake, and the man was reportedly holding it because he was cleaning out his vehicle.

Police say the call came in from a drunk man from Tent City. TLS-CCP.

  1. So that’s why people in tent city cant afford to rent an apartment.

A drunk resident called police. They spend their money on alcohol and cell phones!

  2. According to the law if you have a gun license you are allowed to walk around with an unloaded shotgun or rifle for those who have the older card it says the whole law mine just states the statu but whatever no cares anyway

  3. #2 no thats not the point ,the point is better police training, the law in n.j is if you have a firearms id card you can carry unloaded rifles and shotguns they dont need to be in a case, you can walk around with them all day on you shoulder, i spoke to Evan Nappen (the n.j gun lawyer) and he confirmed this. So its the police which created a dangerous situation not the guy with the gun. Just because theres a guy with a gun does not mean hes a threat unless hes doing threatening things with the gun. N.J people need to get over their gun phobias

  4. after R.I.P. 317 chris matlosz what do you excpect from the cops?????????????????? great work LPD and thanks for putting your life on the line for our sake.
