A gun and other items were stolen during a home burglary in Lakewood last night, the homeowner tells TLS.
The homeowner says a burglar evidently entered his Countyline Road area home garage sometime between 7-11:30 p.m., and then forced his way into a door to the home.
Once inside, the burglar apparently wanted to buy himself some time inside the home by locking all the extra front door locks – the first odd thing the homeowners noticed upon returning home, the homeowner told TLS.
After rummaging through the home, the burglar made off with the homeowner’s gun safe, containing a gun, gun license, cash, jewelry and more. A computer was also stolen.
CSI responded to the scene for fingerprinting.

I have recently heard that a gvir in lakewood has donated 100’s of thousands of dollars to the lakewood police dep to purchase high tech amunition to battle feirce terrorists. Wouldn’t it be very accomplishing if donations can be spent more on high tech surveilance?
#1 no Lakewood Gevir ever donated ammunition to the Lakewood police Dept.
#2 he’s referring to Dr.R3.donating the guns to Lakewood’s finest.
I think it’s safe to say that lakewood has turned into a city and the police and like agencies need to step up patrols and surveillance. I believe they are understaffed for a community with a large population and diversity. In bedded in our community is a strong hold of the bloods aND ms13 gangs putting our children in extreme danger. How many more shots fIred calls do we need before a stray bullet hits a inocent person? It’s time for the town to lock and load and finally put an end to the violence that surrounds us.
Great. So now another perp has another weapon. Thats v/ comforting. Lock n load !!
are you suggesting that someone finance installing surveillance system in private people’s homes???
Rg3 did another great thing. Power to the police in this Crazy world where perps get what’s coming to them for assaulting police officers..that simple.
People feel threatened get an alarm system. I personally done feel comfortable with police survelaince in all areas..it should be in high crime areas..
Since the article says the thief (thieves?) made off with a gun safe with a gun (singular), I infer that this was a small safe designed to hold 1 or 2 pistols. I wonder if the safe was secured by bolting it to a solid part of the structure. If not, its a good lesson to anyone out there using that kind of gun safe. Most of them come with pre-drilled holes in the bottom that allow heavy bolts to go through and into floor joists or other framing. No system is perfect, but as I understand it, most thieves don’t want to spend extra time to defeat a security measure that will take more than a few minutes, for obvious reasons.
