Group Again Petitions in Lakewood for Gun Control

PHOTO: Though standing on Matlosz Way, it’s unclear exactly what the objective of calling for tighter gun control in Lakewood is, but a group yesterday again used Red Square – and not Trenton – to bring attention to their cause.

A similar group last Sunday also used the town’s center to bring awareness to gun control and to support of the immigration reform laws, currently being discussed in Congress.

  1. funny how more people die from alcohol, tobacco, and car accidents – and yet not a peep from these “life savers”. hypocrites.

  2. hey #2 – we already have mandatory background checks when you buy a gun from a dealer.

mandating a background check when you buy a gun from a private party – is the equivalence to mandating, that before you sell your car to someone, you have to go to a dealer, pay them a fee to have the buyers drivers license checked, pay them a fee to “hand the keys over” and only then can you sell the car. why should i jump through hoops just to sell something i own?

    1. timothy mcvey didnt use a gun and killed 128 people, and injured 600 others. whats going to stop criminals from mass-murdering people if we take away guns? NOTHING

    2. whats going to stop the wives & close relatives from passing bg-checks and then passing the gun along to someone who doesnt belong with one? NOTHING

    3. why is the government so willing to inconvenience and restrict the rights of law abiding citizens – WITHOUT FIRST stiffening the laws for law breakers? what you dont understand is that by allowing lawmakers to ignore criminals and concentrate on the law abiding citizens – you are simply allowing the lazy law makers to target an ‘easy’ target. they know they wont be able to stop criminals – thats why none of them have hit any media outlets and claimed the desire to give mandatory 20yr terms for any violent gun related crimes.

IF TOMORROW SOME CRAZY RELIGIOUS GROUP OF PEOPLE START CAUSING CRIMES, YOU AND YOUR RELIGIOUS RIGHTS COULD BE NEXT (instead of simply imposing stiffer penalties upon the criminals)
