Gravestones Toppled By Downed Trees – Flash Flood Watch In Effect Until This Evening

toppled gravestone[PHOTOS] A strong rain moving through Lakewood this morning took down trees, power lines and gravestones. Several trees fell down at the Madison Avenue and Countyline Cemetery, taking down gravestones along with it. Additionally, power outages are being reported due to downed wires in the area of New Hampshire and Cedarbridge Avenues.

According to the National Weather Service, a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Lakewood until this evening. TLS-CCP.

  1. It is a nonsectarian cemetery – both Jews and non Jews are buried there. There is even one plot dedicated to people who died during Holocaust.

  2. I don’t wish to rain on anyone’s parade but the trees down in the cemetery were caused by a storm that moved thru the area about two weeks ago, not last evening. The cleanup should be completed by the end of the week.

  3. to #8 i agree with you when i passed the cemetery last week those trees were down and so were the gravestones. and to everyone else what does it matter what kind of cemetery it is.
