Grand Total Snowfall In Lakewood, 2-3 Inches – Snow Expected Tuesday, Wednesday

lakewood_clock_storm_2010_tls-150x150There will definitely be less of those ‘why wasn’t my street plowed yet’ complaints this evening, as Lakewood only got about 3 inches of snow today. The trucks however were out and salting the roads. The National Weather Forecast is predicting more snow this Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

  1. was driving down joe parker which is clean bec the county PLOWED and looked down the side streets which were not clean because the township SALTED.

  2. What was that about salting?
Has anyone seen salt in Lakewood?
I only see dirt everywhere, it is messy and does not help at all, is there a reason for puting dirt instead of salt?

  3. I’m hearing a lot about another possibly major storm coming Tues or Wednesday. I’ve read it online and heard rumors but haven’t seen it on any weather channels yet other than “snow possible”. Anyone know more about this?

  4. Funny; today they predicted a few fluries and we got 3 inches while yesterday (Friday) they predicted 3 inches and we got a dusting! Go fugure…

  5. I have heard talk about next storm coming on Tue. And about 25 inches of snow expected. Anybody hear about this?
The weather channels haven’t said yet to this extent

  6. the computor models are showing a major storm capable of dumping 10 to 20 inches of snow, however some models are showing the storm so far offshore that we get a lot less, and others are showing the storm going so far the other way that the warm part of the storm comes over us and we mix with rain. stay tuned.

  7. Yup, I won’t be gullible. However it seems that they’re having a very difficult time predicting accurately on these storms. They admit so themselves. News flash: until Friday before the last blizzard(just about 48 hours)the weather channels were predicting “snow POSSIBLE”.

  8. #5, the reason the township is using dirt instead of salt is because after the salt melts all the snow, the next time it rains, all the salt will get washed into the nearest sewer which leads to the nearest ocean which eventually finds it’s way to the Barnaget Bay Estuary, where it mixes in with all the other salt water coming in from all the other townships and polluting the bay, thereby causing irrepairable damage to all the marine life living in it.

So, salt on snow = bad for the environment in the long run.

  9. to the man and woman walking “in the roadway”, “at night”, “all dressed in black”, that i swamped with a wave of slushy snow last night while i was plowing. PLEASE, people, wear reflective clothing!!!!!!!!!!!! i never saw you till it was too late. thank god you only got wet. also why must you follow the trucks so close? is it stupidity or some genetic defect. give the trucks with the flashing lights ROOM TO WORK. thank you

  10. a couple of places I saw were saying the storm on tuesday isnt really supposed to hit LKWD with more then a few inches. (they actually did a great job so everyone should stop complaining) ps. possibly up to around 18-20.
