In preparation for the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines to New Jersey, Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 207, which automatically enrolls residents who choose to receive a COVID-19 vaccine into the state’s existing vaccine registry. The Governor’s Executive Order changes inclusion into the New Jersey Immunization Information System from an opt-in to an opt-out program for residents who elect to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. That group of residents will be automatically enrolled into the system, and will then be permitted to opt-out of the registry 30 days after the public health emergency expires.
Currently, all individuals born on or after January 1, 1998 are automatically enrolled in the registry, unless they opt-out of the registry. Any individual born prior to January 1, 1998 can elect to opt-in to the registry.
“As we continue to prepare for the first tranche of vaccines in New Jersey, we are exploring every avenue to maximize efficacy and efficiency,” said Governor Murphy. “We’re taking this step today to ensure that New Jerseyans who choose to receive a COVID-19 vaccine get the most effective course, on the proper timetable, without logistical or bureaucratic hurdles in the way.”
“Accurate accounting of every dose of vaccine is vital to monitoring implementation progress of New Jersey’s vaccination plan,” said New Jersey Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli. “The system will also allow us to ensure residents are returning for the second dose of vaccine.”
I don’t want any vaccine, nor do I want my family members to get the vaccine. I don’t know what harm it can do.
Those who refuse to vaccinate against COVID are not just endangering themselves, they are causing a delay in the end of the pandemic.
Let’s understand why this is…
The mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna are around 95% effective. That is amazing, but it still means that for 1 out of 20 people who take the vaccine, it will not work to prevent the illness. To protect everyone – even those for whom the vaccine will be ineffective, we have to achieve herd immunity. If 70% of the “herd” becomes immune, the virus will have very few places to spread and will fizzle out. We need 70% of the populate to be inoculated for this to occur.
So people who refuse to vaccinate are not just making a decision for themselves. Their decision has repercussions for the general population. In short, these people are being selfish, putting their fellow citizens are continued risk.
Consider this also. There will be people who want to vaccinate but cannot for certain medical reasons. Those people will be vulnerable until we achieve herd immunity. Therefore everyone’s participation in the vaccination effort is critical.
We saw this with the measles outbreak. When significant groups of people decided not to vaccinate, they gave the measles virus a place to take hold in that population. Measles can be very dangerous. Young babies are not eligible for the MMR vaccination until they reach a certain age. That means that young infants in those populations were at risk.
For those who are concerned about the safety of the vaccinations, I highly encourage you to watch Rabbi Dr. Aaron Glatt’s presentation he gave last Motzei Shabbos where he solidly addressed this issue: youtube.com/watch?v=C8EUedD6cR0
How do I opt out? You better research this vaccine better than just watching Dr. Glatt’s presentation on it. It will change a person’s DNA and it was rushed through with some people having severe reactions.
How do I opt out? You better research this vaccine better than just watching Dr. Glatt’s presentation on it. It will change a person’s DNA and it was rushed through trials with some people having severe reactions. There’s more to know but its hard to believe an anonymous comment on tls. You need to research it yourself.
The vaccine does not change your DNA. I don’t even think it’s possible to change your DNA.
It works by causing the body to generate the same spike protein that is found on the Coronavirus. This triggers an immune response as if the body had been attacked by the actual virus.
I suggest you don’t research it yourself because you clearly don’t know what you are talking about.
From what I’ve read there have been NO severe reactions. According to Dr. Glatt, the same reactions that happened in the vaccinated group also happened in the placebo group. This means that the headache or body-ache that one group member experienced probably was just caused by random chance.
The bottom line is that the data is a matter of public record. It has been/will be peer reviewed by professionals.
I suggest you consult your doctor.
Each person that opts out just prolongs the pandemic for the rest of us. Let’s make educated decisions by consulting those who are trained to know best and let’s get on board.
