Governor Phil Murphy today ordered that U.S. and New Jersey flags fly at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities on Thursday, November 17, 2022, in recognition and remembrance of former First Lady Lucinda Florio.

“Lucinda Florio served as an active and visible First Lady who used her role to advocate for women and children, supporting causes from early childhood education and literacy to health and women’s rights,” said Governor Murphy. “It is with heavy hearts that we mourn her passing as we recognize the outstanding achievements and cherished memory of Lucinda Florio.”

NJ’s Former First Lady, Lucinda Florio, has passed away. Her husband, the former Governor, died about two months ago.
