Governor Murphy announced today that he is putting in new statewide restrictions as New Jersey experiences a second wave of new coronavirus cases.
The governor has said that, despite the need for new restrictions to be implemented, their scope will not be similar to the spring, when a near-total lockdown was ordered.
“They won’t come close to what we were doing in the spring,” Murphy said. “This is not a lockdown.”
Under the new restrictions, bars and restaurants will be required to end service at 10 P.M., bars will be prohibited to seat diners indoors, and food establishments will be unable to serve food and alcohol between the hours of 10 P.M. to 5 A.M.
The new restrictions do not pertain to restaurants’ outdoor dining arrangements.
“A second wave is here. This is our reality,” Murphy said. “We must redouble our efforts and recommit to the practices that have gotten us this far – social distancing, washing our hands, and wearing our masks.”
New Jersey announced 2,075 new positive cases of coronavirus on Monday, bringing the state’s cumulative total to 256,653.
New Jersey’s positivity rate has climbed to 6% recently, even hitting 8%, as the entire tri-state area sees rising cases. New York City mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday morning that action would have to be taken soon to curb the spread of the virus, and other tri-state officials are considering their next steps.
Right, because Covid has a watch & only comes out at night.
Cmon man!
The party of science they say.
So the virus only comes out at night after 10. What is taking so long to count NJs votes?
Only way to curb the virus is to wear masks like all other countries do.
Start charging fines for not wearing masks and that will quickly sort things out. Like they do elsewher
