Governor Murphy today announced that his administration will be distributing an additional $100 million in funding to bolster the economic recovery in New Jersey. The funds will come from the CARES Act, which gave billions in federal dollars to states to help them weather the economic storm precipitated by the coronavirus pandemic.
Governor Murphy said that $70 million will go to Phase 3 of the NJEDA’s Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program, with $35 million targeted to help businesses in the food-service industry and $15 million to assist micro-businesses.
Another $10 million will go to the NJEDA’s PPE Access Program, $15 million to support the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ rental assistance programs, and $5 million to support food banks, soup kitchens, and other hunger relief efforts.
