Just days before Rosh Hashanah, Gedolei Yisrael from Eretz Yisroel and America opened their homes for special siyumim with Daf HaYomi B’Halacha maggidei shiur as they completed Hilchos Eiruven in Chelek Daled and embarked on Hilchos Pesach in Chelek Hei.In Lakewood, a siyum was held at the home of the distinguished Rosh Yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha, HaGaon HaRav Yeruchem Olshin, shlita.

In addition to the siyum at the home of Rav Olshin, siyumim were held at the kedusha filled homes of HaGaon HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman, zt”l, HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Wosner zt”l and yblc”h, HaGaon HaRav Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, Rosh Yeshiva of Mir Yerushalayim, the well-known Sephardic Rosh Yeshiva and Mekubal, HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Hillel, shlita and the Biala Rebbe, shlita.

The siyum at Rav Shteinman’s home was jointly led by his son, HaRav Shraga Shteinman, HaRav Shevach Rosenblatt and three of Bnei Brak’s most prominent poskim, HaRav Sariel Rosenberg, HaRav Yehuda Silman and HaRav Yisroel Marurush.

At the storied home of Rav Wosner, his son and successor, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Wosner attended as well as his talmidim muvhakim HaGaon HaRav Moshe Shaul Klein, HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Eliezer Stern and HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Meir Stern.

Rav Olshin told the maggidei shiur, “When Rav Shlomo Heiman came to America in 1935, he rejoiced greatly in a siyum. Siyumim weren’t then common in America and they engendered great simcha. Baruch Hashem, today, siyumim are more common, but a siyum on the difficult Chelek Daled of Mishnah Berurah with maggidei shiur representing many mesaymim is not common at all and is a tremendous simcha!”

It is well-known that the days of selichos are extremely busy for Rabbanim with every second measured. Nevertheless, the leading Gedolei Yisrael saw fit to open their homes for the Dirshu Daf HaYomi B’Halacha siyumim because strengthening Klal Yisrael in learning daily halachos is so important and encouraging people to embark on Chelek Hei was an opportunity to increase zechusim for Klal Yisrael before the Yom Hadin.

As Dirshu embarks on Chelek Hei there has been a tremendous uptick in enrollment as Jews the world-over join the Daf HaYomi B’Halacha where with a small investment of time per day they will be able to learn and know Hilchos Pesach.
