Funeral Held For Former Lakewood Firefighter Fredrick Dennis; Father Of Fire Commissioner Mike Dennis

VIDEO: A funeral was held today for Fredrick J. Dennis, a former Lakewood firefighter, who was passed away on June 24 at the age of 88. He is the father of current Fire Commissioner Mike Dennis.

Fredrick was born in Brick and spent most of his life in Lakewood before settling in Whiting for the last 12 years. Fredrick served in the US Army during World War II as a sergeant in the 391st Infantry Division in the South Pacific. 

A funeral procession en-route to St. Mary paused at the Cedarbridge Hook & Ladder Station, station 68, where Fredrick was a member of.

Rest In Peace Fredrick, and thank you for your service to Lakewood and the United States.

I go all the way back to kindergarten with Mike JR and I have nothing but nice things to say about a great family whom my condolences and heart go out to..god bless

Mr. Fred Dennis was the kindest, nicest person .
I send my sincerest sympathy to Michael and familyfor their loss.
