The funeral arrangements for Michael Saccomanno, the longtime head of the Lakewood Township Inspections Department, was announced this morning.

Public viewing will take place at the Forked River Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 8th, from 4-8pm.

On Thursday, the funeral procession will drive by the municipal building at 10:00 and the Strand Theater at 1pm, followed by burial at Ocean County Memorial Park in Waretown.

Saccomanno, was a well-respected figure throughout the Township Departments and throughout the Lakewood community, where he had been serving in the Department for many years before taking over as head inspector in 2009.

Mike, who was beloved by the community, recently suffered from a health issue, and was rushed to the hospital. He passed away last week with his family at his bedside. He was 62.
