  1. Boruch Daya Haemes. Every family with more than 2 children should have life insurance for the father and the mother. Maybe you should make a collection for every yungerman that cant afford life insurance. your fund will probably be smaller. what a shame that his almanah has so much to deal with and has to be ashamed now because people have to go begging for her.

  2. I know for a fact that He did have life insurance- just not enough . please stop blaming people ,a family of seven without a father needs alot just to get by.

  3. (moderated) If you dont have a 30 year policy with a minimum of 1 million per spouse and if you have a large family get 2 million for each spouse you will need to collect. GTE THE POLICY WHEN YOU ARE YOUNG AND HEALTHY. I AM NOT INSURANCE AGENT> I AM PERSON WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN YESOMIM CAMAPAIGNS FOR YEARS AND I MYSELF CANNNOT GET AN AFFORDABLE 30 YEAR POLICY BECAUSE OF HEALTH ISSUES

  4. Getting the oilam to get even that $250K was like pulling teeth. In it’s absence guys would have a big fat ZERO. The program isn’t by itself a solution, but it’s a start and it’s far from “a disaster”.

  5. Insurance is not a joke. Make a cheshbon what it cost u to live. Times it by 10n then add what each wedding/bar mitzva will cost and u have an idea of how much ur policy should be worth. If you have a (extended) family of means u can make it less.

  6. to number 6, i’m sure you know more than me, but i don’t think you should start telling everyone on a website, that is open to everyone, such information. From what i heard about the Niftar, words can not console. My heart goes out to his almanah and his children. I can’t hear kaddish from such a young voice, oy oy. It hurts so much. We all need to take a lesson from R’ Dovid, i was so inspired about what i hread in the Voice. We lost a pure member and need to stop the decree on Bnai Yisrael and help with Vias Hamashiach! Please do your histadlus

  7. TO #6 – 1 million per spouse? huh? maybe you mean per child? The amount of coverage depends on your standards of living. Theres a mathematic table to calculate what you need.

  8. I believe putting a million dollars in a safe acct will yeild aprox $50,000 a year. the amnt a family needs really depends on the size. May we only hear simchos.

  9. I am #6 and YES “minimum” is 1 milin per spouse. We have had Almans who we needed to collect for. MOST families are A) relient on the wifes income and her work with what she had done in the house and operate a family is extremy costly to subsiture if Chas v shalom she is not here. B) many families are dual income and chas vshalom one spouse is no longer with us its ALSO a terribile economical problem. C)if you takr the intrest rate which is maybe 2% on 1 million dollars and the idea is to live off the intrest its only 20,000. Th ekeren will be eaten up pretty fast for daily expenses.

  10. i am #6 not sure what i said was worng but I apologize if i did. I am exrtremly close with the nifter. and i am working at crazy hours to help raise the funds. and yes he did what he could to get coverage from the yeshiva plan and arevim.

and #11 the more coverage the better but it must be polices for both husband and wife.

But I am talking to the oilam who NOW must wake up and listen to the many gedolim who DO SAY to get Life insurance and for both spouses. Somethingis better then nothing. Please note with group plans – if you are not “locked in” for 30 years the rates can change and/or be cancelled.

with the economical struggles of today its getting harder to be reliant on collecting such funds that are needed to support our large families.

  11. Will someone please explain to me the difference between the two ARAIVIM organizations and why they just don’t join together to make a bigger group. Thank you.

  12. to number 14 most families in lakewood are not earning to much more then 20,000 or they would not get all the programs, by the way if they got 2 or three million in life insurance payoff they would lose the programs

  13. They’re competing because controlling the $$ between the time it’s collected and the time it’s disbursed is no small advantage to an organization.

  14. # 8 is correct , it was like pulling teeth !!! First yeshiva tried to get the oilom to sign up for 500K policy it would cost $200+ (dont remember the exact amount ) & yeshiva would pay $50 (or $100 don’t remember exactly ) .They couldn’t get 60 % of entire yeshiva to sign up in order to pull it off . So they dropped that idea & tried to get 60 % of graduates only ( usually older chevra & more seichel in the head ) for 250K policy for the cost of $100( & yeshiva pays $50) . and even then they had a hard time , there were signs all over yeshiva ( you couldn’t walk 2 feet without bumping into Life Insurance sign ) . but thankfully they pulled it off as a starter for people to realize that they need insurance !

  15. LETS BE CLEAR MUCH OF THE INUSRANCE MONEY CAN GO DESIGNATED TO A FOUNDATION SO ONE MAY NOT LOSE THE PROGRAMS.

IF A PERSON HAS 2-3 MILLION DOLLARS OF LIFE INSURANCE THEY WILL NOT NEED THE PROGRAM.

IF ANY FAMILY OF 7 IS LIVING OFF OF 20,000 A YEAR IS BECAUSE THEY MAY BE GETTING OTHER FUNDS THROUGH “OTHER” SOURCES. ASK ANY ASKAN AND A FAMILY OF 8 WOULD BE LUCKY TO LIVE OFF 80k A YEAR IF YOU COUNT ALL THE RESOURCES THEY ARE GETTING (FOOD, EDCUATION, HEALTH INSURANCE…..)

THE PROBELEM WITH THE 250K IS THAT ITS A GROUP PLAN AND IF THE INSURANCE COMPNAY SEES TO MUCH LIABILITY THEY WILL INCREASE THE COST OR CANCEL THE PLAN. ALSO AFTER 2 YEARS OF LEAVING YESHIVA ,I BELIEVE THE COST INCREASES DRAMATICALY.

ASK ANY ASKAN ITS BEST TO TAKE ACHRAYUS AND GET THE 30 YEAR 1 MILLION POLICY AT THE MINIMUM FOR EACH SPOUSE.

IN THE PAST WE WERE ABLE TO REACH OUT TO 30 GEVERIM AND GET $5000 EACH IN ONE NIGHT. THIS IS NO MORE AND NOT HAPPENING. THE ECONOMY HAS HIT AND ITS NOT POSIBILE ANYMORE.
