As they complete their training at the Ocean County Police Academy, dozens more police officers from the 101st Basic Police Recruit Class will soon be hitting our streets.
“I want to congratulate the 29 new officers as they successfully complete their training and begin their careers in law enforcement,” said Ocean County Freeholder Director John P. Kelly, Director of Law and Public Safety. “My colleagues and I on the Board of Freeholders have the greatest respect for the officers that serve and protect our County. We appreciate their dedication to keeping us safe and out of harms’ way.”
Among the graduates, four will be joining the ranks of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
“The training provided at the Ocean County Police Academy gives the recruits a foundation for becoming the best officers possible,” said Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy, who oversees the Police Academy. “I wish them well in this endeavor and encourage them to be the best they can be.”
The keynote speaker at the ceremony will be Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.
In addition, individual recruits will be recognized for high academics, high physical fitness, high marksmanship and in several other categories.
