Whether looking to purchase a starter home or a forever home, homebuyers have a lot to learn! The public is invited to attend the Lakewood Resource and Referral Center (LRRC)’s free Homebuyer Event to gain a better understanding of available mortgage options and how to qualify.
This event will be held on Wednesday, September 18, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Oak Street School, located at 75 Oak Street in Lakewood.
The LRRC is sponsoring this event in partnership with Solutions to End Poverty Soon (STEPS) to provide valuable information to help homebuyers understand how much they can afford to spend, which mortgage option is best for them, and how to qualify for a loan.
Anyone in the market or thinking about purchasing a home anytime within the next 5 years is encouraged to attend this event. This year, we are again offering a sit-down educational seminar at 6:00 pm, and again at 7:00 pm. This seminar will include presentations by LRRC housing director, Mrs. Bassi Aderet, about the benefits of first-time homebuying programs, and select lenders about credit and money management, mortgage calculations and ratios, and the application process. Attendees are encouraged to attend one of these sessions.
From 7:00 to 9:00 PM, representatives from lending institutions will be available to meet and have one-on-one conversations. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss and review mortgage options and receive preliminary prequalification for loans. LRRC and STEPS Certified Housing Counselors will also be available to answer questions.
