The Lakewood Township Committee has granted preliminary approval for a four-way stop sign at the intersection of Clifton Avenue and Courtney Road.
A second hearing for the ordinance will be heard at the committee’s July meeting.
Once approved, the Township intends to install a flashing stop sign.
In related news, the committee discussed the possibility of adding additional handicap parking spots in the downtown area, along Clifton Avenue.
Hearing for this ordinance will be heard at the July meeting as well.
lots of accidents could have been prevented at this intersection if the police would have cracked down on the cars parked too close to the corners.
So so so true.
See some crazy parking going in around that intersection. Parked the wrong direction 2 feet from stop sign.
Wonderful!!! My master plan is to have a traffic light or stop signs at every intersection in Lakewood.
And the master plan of some driver’s is to run the red light & run the stop sign. It’s proven. I like your idea, though.
I think there should be speed cameras and red light cameras too.
They’re annoying and frustrating but the ich bin attitude of some drivers in Lakewood is out of control.
@Tony
What? Someone in town agrees with me on this?? Wow!!
Mr Tony. People have died at this intersection because there’s no stop sign. Constant terrible accidents. Long overdue.
Very good location for a 4 way stop sign. Clifton and 6th Street is also desperate for a 4 way stop sign. PLEASE install a 4 way stop sign at Clifton and 6th too!
If you don’t start aggressively ticketing cars parked to close to corners, then every intersection in lakewood needs a four way stop sign!
