Former Lakewood Municipal Judge Jerome Gertner Passes Away [Watch Levaya Live 11:00 AM]

Jerome Gertner, a former Lakewood Municipal judge, passed away overnight. He was 88.

Gertner, father of Sean Gertner, Eric, Mitch and Heath, was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1933. He was admitted to the bar in New Jersey in 1962.

He was educated at Rutgers University and the University of Virginia.

Jerome is the former president of the American Judges Association. He’s also the former State Commander Jewish War Veterans.

Gertner served six years on the Lakewood Board of Education, including one year as president. He was among a group that spearheaded the development of Community School Programs and integration of the Lakewood schools faculty.

The Levaya will be held 11:00 AM Friday morning at the 7th Street Chapel in Lakewood. Kevurah in Lakewood.

    I was menachem uvel him after his mother passed while he lived on Lake Drive Terrace years ago.
    Did he still have his little 2 seater 1963 Red MGB Roadster which he used to drive to work with; it’s probably worth as much as a house today.
