James R. DeLigny, a former Fire Captain and Chief of the Lakewood Fire Department, has passed away. Mr. DeLigny, 79, served in the Air force during the Korean War and became a member of Reliance Hose Company #4 in Lakewood in 1959. He served as president and became Captain in 1982 until 1984. He then served as Chief of the Lakewood Fire Department from 1992 through 1994.
James is survived by his wife and 5 children.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 29th at 10:00 AM at the D’elia Funeral Home.

The Deligny’s were our neighbors for years on Davis Road. They were fine, upstanding, community and family oriented people. I am sorry to hear about his death. May he rest in peace.
