Following Recent Incidents, TLS Negotiates Special Deal On Lifesaving Device

VIDEO: All too often, Chaveirim or Police receive a frantic call in the midst of a Summer day “Please hurry, my baby is locked in the car”. Unfortunately, there have been too many such instances over the past few years in Lakewood alone.

A study found that even at 9 AM with an outside temperature of 82 degrees, the closed vehicle registered 109 degrees inside in just minutes. When the outside temperature rose to 112 degrees at 1:30 PM, the closed vehicle reached 124 degrees. Those temperatures can prove fatal in minutes.

Following recent incidents where parents have left children alone in a hot vehicle – either mistakenly or unfortunately deliberately – TLS has reached out to CSO Radio to negotiate a lower price on their popular ‘Backseat Minder’ for TLS readers.

The ‘BackseatMinder’ is life saving device, which was invented and being sold by CSO Radio of Lakewood. The device is a technologically advanced product that anticipates real life situations and any time a child is placed in the back seat of a vehicle, the driver will be forced to re-open the rear door. (Watch video for a detailed description of the device).

The regular price for this product is $249.00 including installation. With the special negotiated price, TLS readers will receive an instant $50 discount, which brings it to $199.00 including installation.

Call 732-942-1101 and mention TLS for the instant discount. (Valid only until July 31, 2012).

  1. Disagree with 2 and 3. It has happened to too many otherwise responsible parents to lay blame. There have been many articles claiming that it has more to do with change in routine and distraction than being a good parent.

  2. I love this, he remembers to drink his coffee, get the paper, make a phone call while driving, get on a train, but he can’t remember his baby?
Do the world a favor and save yourself some money. Put your precious phone and wallet or pocketbook on the back seat next to your forgotten baby. For sure you won’t forget the phone and wallet, and in the process you might save two lives, not talking on the phone and not forgetting your baby!!!

  3. #4,
Like a whole in my head.
What does a change in routine have to do with constantly bearing in mind the status of your precious children?

  4. #5,
That is an excellent idea! And it doesn’t cost anything to buy or install. We all know where most people’s priorities lie. There is absolutely NO excuse for leaving a child in the car, whether by accident or on purpose.

  5. #4: You dont realize how silly you sound. You are defending irresponsibility based on some magazine article! Get a grip! You have kids then you must take responsibility for them!

  6. I have a close relative who is a dispatcher (not in lkwd) and he received such a call from a mother that she locked her baby in the car. In this case it was a newborn it was the first time the mother had the child in the car she wasnt used to it it happens we all make mistakes so 2and3 come on get real

  7. Mothers of newborns (even not first-timers) can be severely sleep deprived. You make poor judgement calls sometimes in this state. Honestly, it’s a question if you should be driving at all, but when a sleep-deprived mother has to go back to work after the short maternity leave (she may have no choice and has to pay the bills), the baby can easily still be keeping her up at night, affecting her cognitive ability. In such a state, it’s easy to forget even obvious things.

  8. #10: Lets say a family lived on the 10th floor of a building and they never installed window guards and………………. Are you going to say the same thing?! Mistakes happen. Its their first kid…… Cut it out! When a child is brought into the world there is a certain responsibility that is imposed on the parents. Yes. Mistakes happen. But dont give all these stupid excuses. On the contrary, it is gross negligence! Not a mistake.

  9. This is a great device invented by a genious & great guy, R’ Chaim Sinai Orbach, shlit”a. Its also a great deal that TLS negotiated all around. May we only hear besuros Tovos. Dudi B.

  10. Cmon-nebach!! people forgot a baby in the car, its a tragedy, but so many people r so far tumult with parnassah and bills and sickness, they innocently FORGOT their child. they may be drunk from tzaros and their mind is so pre-occupied,nebach on them. theyre not careless…H-shem Yaazor!!

  11. To “Judge with empathy”:

Only one problem with your arguement: Is our lives so tumultuous, laden with the burden of parnassah etc. that we forget to put on our pants? Tzitzis? Shaitel? Where Bagel Nosh or Four Corners are?

    Nuff said…

  12. On a different aspect of children being locked in a car, I wanted to bring this to the attention of TLS readers. A couple of wks ago I turned on my engine to cool off my car, put the baby in the back seat and closed the door. I then proceeded to the drivers door and it was locked. Somehow all the doors had automatically locked and the baby was stuck inside (albeit with the engine on and cool). Bh chaveirim responded in minutes since they heard baby stuck in car, but it was extremely nervewracking to say the least! I do have an automatic starter on the car and I can only attribute it to a computer malfunction. It may be a great idea to open the drivers door first before cloSing passenger door in case of a crazy incident such as this. Of course this wasn’t negligence, but I wanted to bring it to everyones attention.

  13. To all you responsible parents out there. Do you ever talk on the phone while your driving(with kids in the car)?. When it comes to this topic suddenly everyone is so responsible and ready to scream. You cant pick and choose!!!!

  14. Miss Informed, You may be misinformed about the facts. Hatzolah is specifically a life saving organization. Their tools are limited to life saving tasks once they get to the subject. Chaverim helps them get to the subject so they can get their life saving tools to use.

  15. To: Fools

No. I do not use any handheld devices while driving. I drive within the speed limit, and stop at STOP signs. I do my taxes. I work a 9 – 5 job.

I would never leave my children in the car.

Just because I’m a responsible parent doesn’t mean I’m not a responsible human being.

How did you come up with such a ridiculous conclusion?
