Following Incident, Askonim Remind Parents Not to Leave Children in Vehicle – Even for a Minute

child_left_in_car_edited_pic_tlsAskonim today, taking into consideration the Erev Yom Tov rush, are reminding parents to never leave children in a vehicle, even for a moment.

This afternoon, TLS and Askonim were notified about young children that were left inside a vehicle while the mother shopped.

“It’s not worth it,” an Askan told TLS. “It’s a few minutes now, but it can be a tremendous headache later – with court and all.

With the summer arriving, parents should keep in mind that a vehicle sitting in the hot sun can reach fatal temperatures within minutes.

Your child can die. You’re worried about court that’s the least of your problems.

Why were TLS & Askonim notified and not the police?! And the warning you put up is “it can be a tremendous headache later – with court and all”?! What about- someone can kidnap your child, your child can knock something in the car and cause it to move, your child can become hyperthermic very easily and very fast, etc etc. Shameful.

If the a/c is on the child won’t die. If the car is in park the car won’t “move” by a touch. The car won’t go out out of park w/o applying the brake. If the doors are locked they won’t be kidnapped. So all that’s left is the headache & courts by over zealous police. Enough of this nonsense. Please.

I wouldn’t leave my dog alone in a car. How irresponsible of that parent.

If you see young children left alone in a car, especially in summer, don’t accept the above excuses, call 911 immediately.

Anon get a life u complainer. Kids do die in cars do to the heat. Nobody locks their car while it’s running even though it’s possible. So yeah, it’s dangerous!!

We need to fight this law , if the doors are locked and a/c is on then what’s the difference between this and your house?

ANON, you can not be seriously defending someone who leaves a child, or children in a car. I highly doubt anyone who is stupid enough to leave a child in a car is going to leave the car running with the AC on. IT’S AGAINST THE LAW. So the “zealous” police have ever right to bring whoever is DUMB and STUPID enough to do it. Then again, almost everyone could care less what their children are doing, can’t control them and/or only care about themselves. With children dying in Lakewood from being left in a car baking in the sun. To being ran over and killed because someone is in a hurry, it proves my point.

#4. I assume you’re joking. To leave the a/c on, you must leave the engine on. If you leave the engine on in most cars, you cannot lock the doors. Leaving your child in a car is against the law. Enough said.

Over zealous police because they dont want you to leave a child in the vehicle. Please dont mistake the laziness and irresponsibility for a flaw in police work. If you cannot handle the responsibilities of being a parent do not be one.

I would never leave my kid alone even for a second, but FYI I have a push to start engine and my car locks when I take out the keys with me, which I do all the time on hot days to keep my car cool

To everyone who is just trying to get even with me. How about arguing the points. Instead of calling me names & other things. If it’s against the law fine so it is. But that doesn’t mean it makes any sense. To make sense it has to have logic. My points were clearly conveyed. I’m still waiting for everyone else’s
