First Time Ever: Oorah Auction Offers Million Dollar Raffle

What would you do with one million dollars? With the introduction of Oorah’s brand-new Million Dollar Raffle, that’s a question you may actually have to answer. All donors to the Oorah Auction are automatically entered into this separate mega raffle to win 1,000 times their donation, up to $1,000,000.

This year’s Auction still features the incredible prizes and free gifts that we’ve come to expect from Oorah, home of the $5 Auction. That’s right; each prize is still only $5. But now, as you put in for the luxury prizes, from trips to Eretz Yisrael to cars to sheitels to vacations, you’re also increasing your potential winnings in the Million Dollar Raffle at the same time!

But the best part is that your donation helps to bring Jewish children and their families closer to a life of Torah and mitzvos. With hundreds of volunteers across North America and Israel, Oorah’s full suite of outreach programs is incredibly successful in both inspiring families to grow and in helping them to maintain that inspiration with real change. Oorah’s programs include yeshiva placement and tuition assistance, the TorahMates partnership learning program, TheZone camps for boys and girls, Shabbos and Yom Tov events, the Rebbetzins shidduch mentorship program and so much more.

It’s easy to donate: just call 1.877.7.AUCTION or visit oorah.org/auction to enter the Auction now.

  1. Winner has the option of taking payment over 10 years or one lump sum totaling to 50% of the win amount. Million Dollar Raffle Drawing Date: March 9th 2013.

  2. For anyone confused:

The million dollar raffle works as follows: Anyone who buys tickets is automatically entered into the million dollar raffle. It does not matter how much or how little you donate. The winner will win 1,000 times the amount of his/her donation; e.g. donate $40 and win $40,000, donate $100 and win $100,000 dollars, UP TO 1 Million Dollars (hence the name million dollar raffle). There is no seperate ticket sale for this raffle. Simply donate as you would every year and be entered automatically. The more you donate the bigger the potential win.

Hope that clarifies. (and yes, you can just go to oorah.org/auction and get all the info and more)

  5. Always wondered… why do people post their shailos, chakiros, and klehrs on a blog. If you are really concerned then you should be speaking to your Rov. I highly doubt someone at the Oorah office just thought up a cute idea and they went ahead with it. Oorah does have a rabbinical board. If you have a question take it up with them. Blogging doesn’t get anyone anywhere.

  6. to jw… the reason why these mishgasim work is because people have lipa with fiveish dancing all over their house. I’m klehring that maybe it’s time for people to wake up and say, it’s getting out of hand. do you think we need to a rov for this? we love oorah and we’ll support it, but hut shuyn rachmunus!
