The Vamvas bus company will be returning to Lakewood to service school children once again.
“The LTSA is pleased to share with all TLS readers that Vamvas Bus Company will be returning to Lakewood,” the LSTA wrote in an email.
Vamvous was a vendor in previous years, but after last school year decided not to continue servicing Lakewood schools.
“They have now agreed to return, beginning as early as this week,” Avraham Krawiec told TLS.
“They will begin with four boys schools – Tashbar, Ohr Yehudah, Birchas Chaim & Nefesh Hachaim – and we are hopeful that that they will add additional runs shortly.”
The information for all students being picked up by Vamvas was sent out today to the schools, and the schools will send them directly to parents.
“Over the past few weeks, with the addition of the Lakewood BOE busses, Vamvas, Durham and other additional routes picked up by the other vendors servicing our students, we have continued to make progress in getting as many children as possible onto buses,” says Rabbi Krawiec. “We are well aware of the remaining children still waiting for bussing, and we’ll continue seeking all available means to have as many children as possible picked up as soon as possible.”

What’s with YTT minyan runs???
Whats the email address for the ltsa?
Thank you for your work. It would be better for you not to mention the school names. My boys don’t go to any of the schools listed and still have NO bussing!! Taskbar has buses – dont know those other schools. Just REALLY HOPE EVERY KID GETS MUCH NEEDED BUSSING before the snow starts and not just the schools that have full or partial bussing! Do your full job and get it done already!
bh there coming back.
I don’t understand why these 4 schools r getting before bigger schools and why not focus on the best runs to give not just runs to specific schools
info@lakewoodsta.org
size or stature of school should make no diff!! we r all waiting for busing!!
We are thankful we have the means necessary to provide transportation service to the children of Lakewood.
The routes get picked up based on what each specific one is and if the company feels it makes sense or is a route they want to pick up. It’s not handpicked by the LSTA. Thank you R’ Krawiec for your hard (and very underappreciated) work.
Still making 3 round trips to YTT everyday. 1 morning minyan run and both ways for the younger boys. (Almost 4 miles each way = 4 x 3 = 24 miles a day)! Unfair that courtesy routes were filled first. Aid in lieu does not make up for this.
@stop complaining
If the routes get picked up by what makes sense how can the article state for these 4 schools only hard to believe that no other school has some decent routes that could be picked up
From what I remember from my YTT days there is no requirement to daven in School. Have your son daven in a local shul and drive all the kids together.
#11- there’s nothing like a good breakfast in Yeshiva. Beats mums oatmeal and homemade cookies anyday.
B”H we are getting closer to our goal.
Also a YTT parent waiting for minyan, regular morning and 4pm routes. Alot of the school has bus. Please remember the rest of us. Thanks
How does one apply for aid in lieu?
