Rabbi Meir Hertz, the founder of Tashbar, will be retiring as the Dean of the school after 32 years.
His son, Rabbi Dovid Hertz, has been appointed as the new Dean during a L’Chaim at Rabbi Hertz’s home, which was attended by the Menahel and others.
“It has been my great pleasure and highest honor to have founded and served as Dean of Tashbar these last 32 years,” Rabbi Hertz said. “Since its inception with one class of 25 talmidim, Tashbar has KA”H grown to its current 27 classes comprising of 650+ talmidim, housed in our beautiful state-of-the-art campus. More importantly, Tashbar has experienced tremendous Siyatta diShmaya in realizing its mission of excellence in chinuch, and has rightfully earned a reputation as one of the premier Mosdos haTorah in Lakewood. Reflecting on all that Tashbar has accomplished over these decades, it is obvious that only through the supreme dedication and commitment of parents such as you could this have been brought about.”
Son is appointed new Dean.
“At this juncture, I have decided to announce my retirement as Dean of Tashbar. At the same time, I am pleased to announce the appointment of our Assistant Dean, my dear son Rabbi Dovid Yosef Hertz, as the new Dean of Tashbar,” Rabbi Hertz stated.
“R’ Dovid Yosef is bli ayin hora an accomplished Talmid Chochom and a dedicated and gifted 8th grade Rebbi who has earned the love and respect of his Talmidim and colleagues alike. In his recent role as Assistant Dean of Tashbar he has shown his passion for chinuch and keen understanding of today’s talmidim, as well as being a skilled listener and leader. I am confident that under his leadership, Tashbar will continue to reach ever-greater heights in giving over Torah, Yiras Shomayim and Middos Tovos in a way that each Talmid feels and builds upon that kesher for life.”
Rabbi Hertz added, “Serving as Dean of Tashbar, I have been Zocheh to be joined by a truly exceptional group of Rabbeim, Hanhala, General studies faculty, and Executive and Administative staff. Equally important to Tashbar’s success, is our fortune in having the most dedicated and idealistic parents a Mosad haTorah could ever wish for. Working together, this outstanding partnership has brought Tashbar its well-deserved reputation for producing Talmidim that we can all be extremely proud of. My tefilla to Hashem Yisborach is, that He give R’ Dovid Yosef, along with the entire Hanhalas Tashbar and all of our outstanding parents, the strength and wisdom to build on that for many healthy years, to continue to produce Talmidim that bring nachas to their parents, to Tashbar, to Klal Yisroel, and most of all – to Him.
Wishing you and your entire family a healthy and relaxing summer.”
