Multiple Lakewood Police officers were temporarily quarantined due to the potential exposure of the measles, TLS has learned.
The possible exposure came from a suspect Lakewood Police officers arrested and transported to the County jail.
“The County jail notified us that a prisoner we transported there may have been in contact with the measles,” Police Chief Greg Meyer told TLS. “The police department sent all officers involved with the arrest and transport interview and booking processes to MMCSC for screening.”
The officers were then sent home for 48 hours, and will need to return to the hospital.
Though none of the officers appear to have any signs or symptoms of the measles, all areas of the building and well as the car used in the arrest and transport have been properly disinfected, the Chief said.
Yesterday afternoon I was at a light alongside an LPD patrol car and both officers in the front seat were wearing blue face masks.
Is that why the troopers were out in droves this morning?
Our officers may be stricken with a serious disease they contracted while investigating and subsequently arrest a dangerous Robbery suspect and your concern are the State Troopers?
Disgusting.
