FIRST REPORT: Lakewood Board of Education settles former Business Administrator lawsuit for nearly $300k

A former business administrator for the Lakewood Board of Education will be awarded nearly $300,000 after the Board approved a lawsuit settlement.

Thomas D’Ambola served as the Business Administrator for about three years, until he was terminated from his job in 2015.

After his firing of his approximately $150,000 a year job, D’Ambola filed a lawsuit, alleging the Board fired him for not playing along with what he called political decisions.

The Board announced a settlement of $295,000, which will be paid for by insurance.

The matter was handled by insurance company-selected counsel, Patrick J. Madden.
