FIRST REPORT: Building permit applications in Jackson could soon be rerouted through Trenton

Looking to build in Jackson? You may soon have to wait weeks or even months to get a permit application back.

TLS has learned that Building Sub Code Official Wayne Kierce will soon be retiring, and there is nobody to take his place.

Officials stated that the Township has been seeking for a replacement, but nobody qualified applied for the job – reportedly due to the pay

As a result, until a replacement is found, all building permit applications will need to go through Trenton – which means it could take six weeks or longer to receive a response.
