  1. I think that it is Great to name the street in honor Matlosz name, but why not on the street where this happend. I hope to g-d this is not political, because of the time of day that this happened. Where the mayor of Lakewood took his (“RELIGON FIRST”…) IF moderated then it IS. CC to another site.

  2. Zydeco – u so missed the boat. Mayor Miller did a SUPERB job in putting this together. No, honorarily renaming third street has nothing to do with religion. You don’t read the news? The PBA president loves the idea of Third street so the officers can see it every day upon coming to work.
Shame on you for trying to insinuate otherwise.
    Kudos Mayor Miller!!!

  3. Zydeco is an old time infamous rabble rouser.. a pathetic little being always looking to find his negative version even in the most heartwarming of events..

Unfortunately, dark spots continue to exist in our world.

Thank you Mayor Miller for helping to outshine the dark evils lurking out there…

    Keep up the great work!!

  4. It warms the heart to see the unity and cohesiveness that this tragic story has brought out within the community.
RIP 317 and may you be remembered for good things

  5. y r sum pple questioning this issue? for goodness sakes a police officer was just murdered earlier this month. be happy for what this town is doing in honoring him. i can’t wait to see the sign. great job to the town

  6. I’m very impressed with this new Mayor. He is humble enough to publicaly ask for ideas from the public. He is genuine enough to accept ideas being sent his way and most of all true to his word in following through on an idea he said he would!

    Keep up the great work!

  7. It makes perfect sense to me. Isn’t the police station located on Third St? Why do people have to read someting synical into the most simple things? I am happy to see that they are honoring him in this way.

  8. I think this is an absolutely WONDERFUL THING being done, to honor this fallen hero. Stop questioning and be delighted what Lakewood is doing. And to #3 stop being so bitter, honoring him is also honoring the other fallen police officers. Great job Mayor Miller and your video was very touching and moving.
