Likras Shabbos is an Erev Shabbos learning program for children which requires them to learn for approximately 45 each Erev Shabbos in Bais Medrash. There are over 300 Lakewood children enrolled in the now international program. The Lakewood program is run by R’ Yossi Hirsch. Participants at the Siyum entered a raffle to win one of two grand prizes. The first grand prize was a Seforim Shrank full of Seforim-valued at about $3,000. The second prize was a trip to Eretz Yisroel. (To start a group in your neighborhood, or to sponsor a group, you can contact the Likras Shabbos office at 732-363-0669)

  1. This is a beautiful program. My son unfortunately missed the siyum, but he didn’t miss a week of learning in the shul on my corner each Friday afternoon. He came home and reviewed what he learned each week at the Shabbos table and we were blown away – both by his enthusaism and his knowledge.
