Firefighters from multiple townships respond to fire at Lakewood home on Yom Kippur

A fire broke out at a Lakewood home on Yom Kippur night, officials say.The fire broke out in a kitchen at Carlton Ave home, and a general alarm was hit out.

Firefighters from Point Pleasant, Island Heights, Brick, Jackson and Toms River responded to the fire. Lakewood was still tied up at the Sophee Lane fire.

The fire was extinguished before it could spread throughout the home. No injuries were reported.

  1. I have to give a great shout out to the EMS department for the way they handled all the care for not only the fire fighters but the residents. From minute one to the end, they stepped up and brought together all rsponding agencies and put together a team worthy of any incident.

  2. We don’t have enough firefighters to cover Lakewood in its current state. How will we continue increasing density if we can’t cover what we are facing as it is?
